Musicians don't talk much

Interesting fact. We have more than 50 symphonic bands in SIngapore. Assuming an average of 40 band members in each band, that makes 2000 musicians who don't have anything to say in this forum.
Whereas in the School of Computing faculty, there are 2000 students and teachers posting a whooping 500-1000 new messages a day.
[joke] Moral of the story, techies and geeks are more talkative than musicians. [/joke]
So tell me, why are you not writing a message here? (I see what I can do...)

talk rubbish? hmmm...try to be more sensitive to your everyday life, there are more conversational topics than you can imagine. I can think of 10-20 topic starters at the moment, but this is not my forum, it's everybody's.

okay... here's a topic.. do you think that your size/shape etc...affects whether you can play a certain instrument... of is sheer discipline and lots of practising enough? For example, if you've got really thick lips does that mean you can't play the trumpet? If so, then I think that means that when people first join the band we would have to give them a sort of 'audition' or something right?

err... the conductor of my band recogmmends zonda...I've never tried it though. I've only known vandoren, and out of a box of 10 only 2 are good.

hello, this doesnt quite suit the topic....
I'm wondering does anyone out there use the model of Bb clar mouthpiece B45 and with the symbol beside?
I actually bought the wrong model of mouthpiece, shld hav bought the 'real' B45 but didn't realize the symbol does hav a diff.
If anyone is interested in the mouthpiece (which is perfectly new, only a few days old and an addtion of a mouthpiece cushion stuck on it) please contact me

Actually, there is not so much a difference if you learn how to control the B45s. Are u using a B45 lyre or B45dot? The B45s feel the same... as in your embouchure is not affected when u change between B45 to another model of B45. I've never tried Lyre before, but I know that the difference in the B45 and B45 dot lies in the varying degrees of resistance. ie, ur airflow would be affected. Not sure what Lyre does though... Jus consider... would it really be necessary for you to go through all that trouble jus to get a mouthpiece that is not so different? Also, give a mouthpiece a bit more time... try it for a longer period before you pronounce a death sentence on it.
Well, this is coming from someone who used to buy mouthpieces rather flippantly when younger. This is only my perspective of things though. -
i've tried a few diff mpcs, mostly vandoren. between b45 and b45 lyre, i think i prefer the lyre better. but this is all personal opinion cos diff things suit diff ppl rite?
but the thing is, i havent actually gotten around to buying my mpc yet. just using a lousy standard issue now. haha -

reeds wise, hmm ya zonda is getting popular but i think vandoren still most common in spore.
aiyah most impt is practise regularly, and CORRECTLY. no use spending all that effort if its not gonna contribute. u learning in a sch band or with a private teacher/yamaha? -
