Actually, most seats in Singapore are like that, don't you think?
I'm only 6' and I've actually stopped going to the cinemas because I come out with a sore back whenever I go watch movies. Only a few cinemas have seats which have some legroom.
Worse are the SBS buses... I think they make seats for hobbits! I can't even sit straight and have to cram my knees on the back of the seat in front.. much to the annoyance of the people sitting there. Thank goodness TIBS buses give you slightly more room.
oh well... wonder if the architect who designed the place was also a hobbit?

I WAS appalled by the poor seating arrangement at the Concert Hall of the Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay. Having spent so much money in coming up with a beautiful building, why didn't anyone look into the fundamental issue of seats for the audience?
Even by Asian standards the seats were cramped. I wonder how bigger Caucasians can sit through a three-hour performance without suffering. I had to sit sideways in order to shift position because I just couldn't stretch my legs. My knees were literally knocking on the back rest of the seat in front.
Then when someone in mid row wanted to move out for a toilet break, everyone of us on that row had to stand up in order to allow him through.
The ambience and sound system of the Concert Hall were simply fabulous but the economy-class seats were simply not in congruence with the opulence of the venue.

The gallery seats (behind stage) will suit larger people, or just to choose an aisle seat. I believe the rounded high ceiling helps to enhance the reverbation of sound, so sitting anywhere doesn't really matter, but the K row is still the best.
