Why does a lady invited you to her home for christmas initially but then never mention about it again? And when you mentioned it to her she seems to have forgotten about it. Does it means she was not being sincere when she asked initially. Its not exactly the first time she does that since she also invited the guy for a meal at her home but never confirm the time and date, thus in the end nothing happens.

Some people do things and forget about it. If she's only doing it to you, then she may be insincere. However, if she's doing it to everyone she knows, then you must understand its a character trait she's displaying. Maybe she's just too busy.
I wouldn't worry too much if i were you. Just mention that she had invited you to her house, and would she kindly tell you the date and time? It should work.~ -
If something like that were to happen again. Treat such things as a figure of speech. Say only, but not necessarily going to do.
