Think I'm going nuts here. I hate to go back to work these days.
I found out that my boss is having an affair with the company's outsourced accountant and his wife who's working in the same company is kept in the dark. After I'd found out of his indiscretion, I've lost all respect for him as a boss and I find it very difficult to work with him. I'm very irritable and my patience is very short whenever we have to communicate. To make matters worse, I'm in a key position and therefore must communicate with him.
We have come to a point where it's getting ugly. He doesn't know that I've found out of his affair. I have decided to resign and feel that it's the only way for me to maintain my sanity. Boss wants to know why I'm quitting and why I'm behaving so oddly these days. Can't bring myself to tell him the truth. Is this being unprofessional and childish? I need an answer. Pls help.

this is his private thing, has nothing to do with his performance and thingy unless he start to neglect his work and....he is your boss...not vice versa...ricebowl very imp, especially nowadays

lol typical office affair. u shudn't quit ur job la. i mean tis kinda ting is their couple prob. u quit job over them don u feel stupid? i mean cos of nobody u quit ur job wat abt ur future? jus overlook and work as normal i know tis sound hard but for ur money u rather work still than quit for no one. Rmb----no one will thank u for tis.

well, you can't work for someone you lost respect of. just tell him that you're decided to move on and leave it at that.

Well, when it comes to be work and professionalism, work is work, what happens outside of work is private and his/her own life. If its going according to that line, then you shouldn't be quiting your job as it doesn't involve work btw you and your boss.
Men cheating on gfs/wivies or woman cheating on their bf/husbands is common. If you knew your boss killed someone, then that's a totally different story. -
Don't mix work and private affairs, even when they're jumbled up.
Since he wants to know why you quit, tell him the truth, but not as an employee, but as a friend.
Though if it were me i would have stayed on. Respect for a boss is one thing, respect for his private life is another. (Not to mention its a bit harder to find jobs now). -
