Well, been having this serious problem of whether to serve NS in army or police. Wat's the benefit of both? Which pays more? (regardless of the toughness).
Or rather, which is more "worth-the-time"?
if u r concern abt paychecks.. go airforce if possible..
working outside may have a better pay~
SCDF pays pretty well for their NSF fire fighters... $150 for the fire fighting vocation pay & $100 for a medic, there's also the meal allowance when u join a fire station. $4 for every 6 hrs u serve. For fire fighters they'll get $12/duty.
Then there is the yearly Rescue Equipt Proficency Test bonus if you do well, Hazmat proficency test bonus. for the rescue eqipt test u can get up to $200 and $300 for the hazmat test.
For a SGT fire fighter serving in a Fire station, you'll get up to $900/month and you only work 11 days/mth the most ! When u r on 24hr duty, u'll have te next 2 days off.. On top of that, u'll get 11 days of public holiday leave regardless whether u r on duty on public holidays. So for CPL/SGT, you get 31 days of leave per year ! 21 days leave = 11 PH leave ! Shiok ? OF COURSE !
not your choice where you want to go.. It is the government choice on where you should go...
If got choice of coz go police... Army got lots of dirty jobs to do compare to police. Some more police more respected...
