talk to the teacher who is in charge of your cca. The existence of cca is not about winning awards but about the opportunity to fulfill your passion and interests, gainning useful knowledge that some can't be learnt through books, and valuable experiences and interests that may benefit you all now and in future. Ask for any other valid reasons if he/she still insists. If you all don't find the reasons sufficient enough to close down the media.com. Tell the teacher you guys will write a letter to principal not to close down the club.Originally posted by cck_190:Hi, my first post here @ aunt agony
I would like your opinion on this:
I'm from a sec school at the Westside of Singapore and recently, my school closed down my CCA.I'm from cca named Media.com. We do things such as photography, maintain the school's website, do editorial stuff and more.
And all of a sudden, during the first session of the year, the school closed Media.com.Why? Because it did not win any awards last year. As a result, a total of 42 of my cca people are transferred to aanother cca, which is called the Library Council.
1)Do you think it's fair that they just close it down without early notice?
2)is it fair they make us do library work and stop all the computer stuff just like that?
3)Can any of you here suggest something i can do to save Media.com?
Please answer with things related to this. I'm really desperate...
[actually is the cca in charge decide this, not the school comitee board]

In such situations, it's hardly about 'playing fair'.
2)is it fair they make us do library work and stop all the computer stuff just like that?
Is your CCA taking up alot of students? Giving any problem? Wasting alot of the school's fund or resources? Perhpas there're things unheard of to you? Is there a student president for it? How did that person (who the student in charge) addressed to you all?
Somehow I can't help but to think that this could be political... Things of such happened back in my secondary school back in my younger days too...
3)Can any of you here suggest something i can do to save Media.com?
Difficult. You can try to find out the 'real' reason behind it. Get some mild 'student movement'? It'll be a GOOD START if all your CCA members STICK TOGETHER... Get their parents to write to the school.. Better if there're some influential parents like professionals or something to write in.. Mmm... That should be enough for a start?

Can you elaborate further on this point
)Do you think it's fair that they just close it down without early notice? The cca does not give ant problems, also it does not use a lot of resources. It needed just a computer lab to function that's all. Also, my cca did not take up much students last year as not many interested, but it has a lot of members though. No student president, but the teacher in charge says because of not getting any award last year...just LAST YEAR

Im afraid thats where you are wrong. The Various CCAs in each sch are all fighting for a cut of the school funding. Naturally, the one that produces the most awards and have the most number of medals get more funding frm the school. My sch Principal very easy to please, the more trophy you have in the office cabinet, the more funding you get lor. Thats why the fencing team in my sch get the most money to buy the best equipment and all that while the Drama club had to closed downOriginally posted by kaobeikaobu:talk to the teacher who is in charge of your cca.
