  confidence has to be cultivated.. cannot be taught.. we can only guide u this much.. for starters may be u could start off with letters expressing ur true feelings w/o face to face.. as u progress.. try to be more vocal n have initiative.. sth lidat.. there's no sure method.. coz human beings r juz too unpredictable..

  Seriously, there's no special potion to take for curing shyness. Its not even a bad thing. Some of my girlfriends find shy guys sexy. But I'm not one of them, of course. Confidence in one's ability comes as a result of being comfortable in your own skin. If you don't know or like who you are, you can hardly overcome it.

  maybe he is lack of confidence? try to praise him alittle?and make him feel comfortable staying with others... and make him proud of himself. if not... maybe he just dun like to talk. just let him be.

  I don't go to hawker centres in my primary school, up to sec 4-5.

  Because i'm afraid that the uncle/auntie will scold me.
  
  Yea, its silly, but that's the way i was.
  
  But now i'm different. I'm more out-spoken, more confident.

  Because i know girls don't like shy guys, generally speaking.
  And shyness achieves nothing.
  
  How?
  
  I made steps to change. Its easy when you realise that the worse that can happen is to be rejected.
  
  Take steps, doing things you never do.
  
  Chat with a person who you're playing the same game with.
  Chat up a person in the lift.
  Ask the waiter/waitress for something, then ask how is their day.
  Offer the shelter of your umbrella to someone who needs it in the rain.
  Ask if the lady needs help with her groceries.
  Hold the door for the person behind you.
  
  eh, i seem to be doing a Singapore Kindness movement thing, but yea.
  Do the things above, and slowly, you're on the way to building up your confidence.~
