Any examples of shy people making personal growth n eventually become successful at work, maybe holding some leadership position?
Shyness can be overcome through constant exposure and training.
As for the definition of success, let me quote from a CNA interview with a famous Singaporean who was initially shy and whom many today regard as successful:
Reporter: How would you define success, Mr. Sim?
W.H. Sim: Oh... (smiles) "Success is getting what you want; Happiness is wanting what you get."
It is not an original quotation, of course. Echoing Shutterbug's opinions, the definition of success (and happiness) all depends on how the individual defines it. If you have to rely on others to supply you with that definition, then most probably you'd never be happy with whatever success you may have.
Know your strengths, work hard to the best of your abilities, soon you'd be able to define your own success and be happy to live with it. Good luck.
