I used to hide my feelings. But recent events have made me realize that the more you tried to hide, the more you will end up deluding yourself. What do you expect to achieve when you hide your feelings? Do you seek to be with the person you have the feelings for or do you just want to continue loving him even though there will be no outcome in the end? If it is the latter, mebbe it is better if you can channel your energy into forgetting...
If not, gather your courage and ask. The longer you take, the more miserable you will be once the truth is out. If he says yes, you have nothing to lose and if he says no, at least you can concentrate on moving on.

actually it's true, the more you try to avoid, the deeper the pit gets. but sometimes, from that person's reaction, the outcome may already be obvious. it's just a matter of seeing and accepting it, and hmm, how long it takes to stop the pain

i finally made up my mind to be a fren-til-the-end rather being the tiring lovers.... both gotta get hurt if we'r lovers and i really dont wanna hurt him, whether intentionally or unintentionally... i rather stand by him and be good frenz... or maybe i'm juz too afraid to lose a friendship... it might be the end if i confess... we'll stil be frenz but it'll strain friendship...

Not such a good thing to tell a person you like him/her after a long time. Cos if its gonna happen, it will happen liaoz. If it doesn't, then jus continue being friends. Its better not letting the person know than be awkward about it later.
Think about it this way, it is better having someone close you can talk to, a person you never have. Than having a person but yet, there are communication problems etc.
It might be a blessing in disguise afterall. Look on the brighter side of life ya? -
Use indirect ways to tell her. Emails, cards, gifts, good compliments, etc. All these are very good and indirect ways to let her know that you are interested in her. If she is also reciprocating, she would show you some actions likewise, else, it is always one way from you.
Well, this is the way some guys indirectly let me know that they are interested in me. When i just behave numb or normal, they soon realise the meaning and back off easily without facing a direct harsh rejection.
Love has to be mutual. -

This guy I know was too slow to act, the girl he likes was courted by another guy.
If she is attached, then just hint u like her & remain friends. As long as u are in contact u stand a chance in case her r/s don't work out. But don't sit & wait for it to happen, go & meet other girls as well. -

he was attached but his gf treated him very bad.
we were great friends and i liked him alot.
so i wrote him a letter to tell him how i felt......... and also added that it doesnt matter if he feels the same way for me.... my intention, to let him know and me, to acknowledge my feelings for him. it was what i felt at that time.
we didnt happen.... after that, i fell for and dated someone better looking......
so what if you get rejected? may not be your problems for a start. could be the other person has low self-esteem, emotional baggage, is superficial or you are meant for something more.
just be true to your feelings. you can give things a shot and see where it takes you.
that you owe it to yourself.
miss it and you may regret for rest of your life.
