oz group of 8 uni courses

which g8 uni is best for business/finance/economics? those who have studied in oz pls help im considering applying for foundation course.

a fren's advice for me was to go for state uni.. den dun go for those with distance learnin..
course consultant's advice was... adelaide's rather new in finance.. tat was er.. in 2003 when she said that...
i wanted to go to western australia...
heard quite good...
den got another fren say go for QUT... better
so..
all teh views i've heard so far.. -
I went to Melb Uni, & hafta sez, the lecturers & tutors were helpful : )

UQ is the state uni.... not QUT....
and, btw, UQ is in the group of 8, but not QUT... -

UWA best lah, only 4hr or so flight from singapore, timezone also the same as singapore. Budget flights available.

in fact he din managed to get into UQ too.... but then for some reason, after studying in QUT, he managed to get himself transfer to UQ.. -

Depends on what course you want to do.
QUT = Qld University of Technology - offers a good business course.
UQ = University of Qld - offers economics course.
Both are pretty good. But then again other factors include where you want to live - Brisbane vs Sydney etc. How much money willing to spend etc. etc etc. -

It's just like if you are holding a certificate from singapore polytechnic and ngee a polytechnic, those overseas recruiters will naturally thinks that singapore polytechnic is more recognised.... ie, it stands for singapore....
so if you have chosen to study in Brisbane, then opt for UQ...if you want more recognised degree then opt for syd or mel..... or maybe those in UK or US... (",) -
wrt Oz uni's it really comes down to what course you want to do. eg. some courses are only offered in UQ and some courses are only offered in QUT. to my knowledge the only courses offered in both are law and engineering. so, eg. if you want to do BizAd - it's only in QUT; if you want to take commerce/economics - it's only in UQ. In Oz - certain uni's are well known for certain subjects. So decide what you really want to do and target those uni's which are strong in your choice.

just to comment, when u choose university, don't just look at the states oh sydney or melbourne city is more beautiful so i wanna be there. Do u know that University of Queensland is the top no.1 university in whole of australia in the field of biological sciences? Especially subfields like zoology, marine biology, agricultural science, they are number one, no doubt about that. Ask any university lecturers in australia, they will acknowledge that. Go to the auggie web and see for yourself. The no. of research articles published in international journals by all universities in each individual fields are listed. For biological science, UQ is the top. They have the Institute of Molecular Bioscience which attracts the best scientists in australia to do research in brisbane. UQ is geographically very close to the famous great barrier reef, and they own most of the research stations situated at the islands there, which makes UQ probably the best place to study marine science in the world. Of course, having said that, other universities have their niche area, if i want to do music, uni melb may be a good choice. So check out the facts, dun just hear your friend say this say that, their views may not be objective.
