Need advice on how to make my hamster's fur fluffy...

My pet hamster's fur does not look as fluffy as the day I bought it from the shop... Is it due to the stain remover spray that i used to wipe it? Grooming tips anyone? Thanks!

buy bathsand for it to roll in
this is to remove grease from the fur
chinchilla sand shd be ok.....rber to get SAND, not dust.....
get the brand Gloseed
dun feed ur hammie with salted food.....
keep the temperature in the room cool......cool, not cold....... -
Thanks for your valuable info, FireIce... Does the bath sand really work, I sceptical, not that I'm doubting you but I'm a newbie to the hamster arena... Sorry being ignorant.

I often force my hamster to bath in the sand, I'll just hold her and rub her back on the sand. Her fur is very nice.

I was going to suggest the special sand for hamsters to bathe in too. I think it works cause my flatmate used to keep hamsters and we used to let them 'bathe' in the bathsand. Go try it!Originally posted by FireIce:buy bathsand for it to roll in

do not ever bathe hammies or put them in water
they might catch colds
blow-dry is a no-no.......why would u wanna BBQ ur hammie?
