Why must a girl lie?

My gf lies about almost everything...esp about her past...can any girl tell me why a girl must lie to such extent?
Why and is there a way to stop it...a relationship must be truthful if not how to go on???
I have done all i can to accept what had happened but it jus seems helpless..
can anyone help pls?? -
girls usually lie coz they feel insecure... whole r/s is that bleddi word called "insecurity"
They are unsure if they tell the truth, their guy will still love them or not.
they dun have enough confidence to come clean.
She needs ur assurance.
And certain girls just plainly like to play guys... beware.
BUT not all girls are like tt, maybe you are one of the more suay ones to get a girl like tt. There are very nice and confident girls around.
Wat should you do w your gf? up to you, but for me, i simply hate them lying to me. And i will lost my feelings for her slowly, if she dun change. which means... lead to break up.

if a person keep doin tat..trust will soon be gone...then sure break up...unless...u reali wanna be wif a lier or she r those will kill herself kind...

What else other than her past did she lie to you? How long are both of you in a r'ship?
Communicate to her that in a r'ship, it's impt to be transparent to each other. Why must one put on a fake front? Let her know that you're very upset. Hear what she has to say.
We are not your gf hence it's quite hard for us to read what's deep in her mind. Perhaps you wanna share more of her lies. So that we can evaluate better?
Certain things to consider.
1. Does she have a bad childhood?
2. Does she lie to you abt everything and anything?
3. Is she deeply hurt in her past r'ship?
4. Perhaps you give her the impression that you're one who will mind abt her past, hence prompted her to lie? -

Seriously I have no idea why your girlfriend have this kind of habit...Is she upset about her past and that's why she's lying all the time about it to escape from facing the truth about her past? Does she feels inferior whenever she's with you? Is she concerned about your social status and being with her makes you look bad in front of anybody? Everyone has their own fair share of past dark pages in their lives...some events which they do not want to be reminded of...something they forcefully wanted to forget and leave behind...something sad or embarressing...something they will forever deny about for the rest of their lives.
You should have a talk with her about it, but don't do it directly please...she won't tell you even if you asked her directly...unless she's having the intentions to let you know about it.
Well, I can say...coax her....be really nice to her and see if she's going to tell you about it. If not, there's no way to know it even if you married her.
Even if she don't wish to let you know about her reasons, please let her know that you are truely upset about her lyings and let her know that this is wrong.
Girls always need to be coaxed during all negotiations/discussions/after quarrels...etc.

my ex do lie to me quite a bit. but not as bad as my friend's gf. only after being with her for a few mths did he know that she is
1) older then he is
2) was married b4 and divorced
3) got not 1 but 2 kids
now he dunno how to break up with her. i pity him. maybe becos he quite well off so she don wanna let go. -
Give her some time.
Maybe have a talk with her and hint that you don't like people to lie. Then make a deal with her from now onwards, both must speak the truth to each to each other. slowly, she will have the courage to tell you the truth. -

I hate this....but is she from JC/Pre-U to University? I don't think she's from poly...cos this is the kind of trend right now happening to a lot of University graduate from JCs. I think you need more heart to heart talks with her... And also do some thinking of your own... Would you still love her the same for the person she is even though she can often be a liar? -
She lied because you are such a lousy. No offense, but actually you are. The fault lies in you.

I suggest you join her during a outing with her friends? Observe if she is any reservations about what she's talking about, expressions and gestures are important. Find out about her offline(observation post rather then one on one confrontation)

I have started the observation method and so far she still lies..
well..she doesnt lie exactly about everything..but esp on her personal stuff, she would..which pisses me off bigtime..end of the day, how to know a person if she's so comfortable about lying or hiding the truth..which ever you called it..
I may be sensitive but there was a reason for it as i found out she lied about some stuff and from then the trust is broken and i scrutinize everything from then..
this is something so damn new...never had a person who hides so much.. -
That is exactly what you must do in your life, and especially with women. They must always know how far they can go. For example, if my girlfriend flakes on me, of course I will be pissed off, but I will show her that I am angry , and will calmly state that this time was the last she ever did it. Is she comfortable with telling you the actual truth?
How well you two know each other for her to know that you can handle the answers to your questions? and also for you to ask those questions... since u said esp the past...
like what the rest said, she needs assurance that u can handle them. If u have never given her any assurance that u can handle answers to such questions, esp if the answers are what she thot u are not looking for...
Different questions have the right time for them to be asked. Maybe u can have a good talk with her abt this, and tell her that she can tell u that she is not ready to answer that question of yours at this moment, esp if its something personal. -
