Recently something struck my head and force me to re-looked into my life....
Seriously I thought "what the FISH am i doing"... these isnt what i want for life... Come to think of it, has the government done top much things that actually form a general suitation that what we do daily... is all planned????
With all the policy/laws/restrictions.... it has some how make our life FAKE!!! which mean this might not be the life we want to live like, but because of the rules/laws/policy.... we r living a fake life...forced into it kind of life......
Take the casino case for example...since we become a nation... we have been living in a life where no casino activities brushes our life..... now someone in the rank thinks that singapore is short of activities.. they wants a casino.... then we will all will now live in a life when we have casino.... is so FAKE!!!!
Come on.... how old can we live(on average) the whole damn life is all doing something u dunno like???///no say????
i wouldnt want that??? must well go and die...
so is time to relooked into your life....
live a fruitful one... time wait no men..... -

i don't see how those rules and restrictions make our lives fake. they just stifle us by forcing us to lead mechanised and mundane lives, when we choose to adhere to em.
bt on the other hand, these rules and regulations are there to offer some sort of protection to its citizens. envision a society without any form of restraint --there wld be an invariable rise in crime rates, social probs and wot nort. so regardless of how much the effort the government is putting in to make singapore a world class society, all their efforts wld come to a naught if the aspect of law and order is still lacking.
abt the govt playing nanny to all singaporeans, it pisses me off tt we haf no say. if they ever take our views into consideration, then its so not the singapore govt anymore. -
Rules and laws are what seperate us from animals (also keeps us from becoming animals). What kind of world are you looking at if there was no law and rules to govern what can and cannot be done?
The world would be a mess thats what. The casino wasn't really intented for us to use anyway, just the investment from overseas operators is good enough to pump some money into the construction sector + future taxes of course... -

think long term, everything the government does is for us and future singaporeans. If that is not their main aim, Singapore would not be what she is today, close to being a first world country. We owe all of this to the government, although i agree the system kinda sucks, but if it could bring Singapore to the state we are in today.. i dont see why they want to choose other alternatives.

even the singapore government would have to concur that in this modern age of technology and innovation, change is the only constant in the world. in order to stay at the forefront of the competition, we haf to innovate and come up with new and better ideas in order to adapt to these new changes. yes, we can't help but respect the singapore govt fer its uncanny ability to bring singapore from an obscure dot on the map to a nation praised for its economic brilliance. but tt's the past. you can't use the same tactics you used 40 yrs ago to govern a nation. it doesn't work.Originally posted by coffeeortea:think long term, everything the government does is for us and future singaporeans. the best part is, foreigners can get jobs more easily compare to locals. Maybe in 10 years time you can find your next door neighbours are of overseas origins.
