Stop whining,women are probaly more discriminated against especially when finding jobs,i do agree that secretart posts are mostly for females,but i think you better learn more about the truth out there.You know how freaking hard it is for a female to take medicine at nus?and think about it,in those high posts how many of them are even female??consider ns the price to pay for not being discriminated in the working world.

Yea compare it to the number of men,and you know whats the reason why females find it harder to study medicine?Its because they will ask questions such as marriage and whether they will have kids etc,its freaking ex to train a doctor so thats why they don't wana spend so much on a female doctor who after working for a few years settle down and be a housewife.What do you know go ask those females in the medicine faculty den.

and if a male and female applicant to meds have the same qualifications and all other variables are the same, both get in.

So sorry just like you do know one person who is taking medicine,i happen to know 3 people.2 of which were male and one female,know why the female got in?cause she said in her interview somethings about not starting a family etc and thats why she felt she got in,cause she did haf some frens applying for it too. Seriously just go count and compare the amount of male and female doctors eh.

Its only proper that they ask. After all their education is being subsidized, and potential doctors should understand that once they're in, its for the long haul. yep they asked it to both sexes,but why aren't they worried about guys settling down and having a family?becuz guys shouldn't be the housekeepers?now isn;t that discrimination in the highest order already?

Perhaps you have a temp job for dear bismarck?
Here in Ontario, we have a summer employment program for students. Perhaps the S'pore government can come up with a program of some sort for male awaiting enlistment? Some kind of temporary job at the various ministries? Just a thought.

Asking both genders the qn suggests to me that they are not so much concerned with genders, but with non-committed applicants. They are saying that if you want to be subsidized, then you should be prepared to accept sacrifices. In this case, it means you have to put family life on hold. There! And how is it gender discrimination if they pose the same qn to both genders?
However, i want to emphasize that to say that it is a transparent and open policy is not to say that i agree with the policy. That is another issue altogether. -

funny thing is, i have a friend who can commit less time to a job than me and he found 1. although with the AID of his friend.

Who would ever admit?yea thats my opinion,but apparently you can figure it out for yourself?if they didn't bother about it,why bother asking that question?it even prompted one of my medicine fren to make a sacarstic joke that no wonder the females in his class are not good looking,that way it will be harder for them to get married.Well the lesser number of female students in medicine might be monetary based,but it is still discrimination.
