smart way to handle this
First get ready a video camera.
next ask your friend to get ready when he comes.
When he beat you up do not fight back , remember to ask your friend to flim him.
After he left, make a police report, and give them a the video. Quickly go to hospital and ask for doctor's report.
Next find a lawyer to fight for you and a accountant to squeeze him for every cent.
Ask police for warrent of arrest, and ask your lawyer to meet him in court.
For causing hurt to another person for sure have to go jail and with the video in your handsd you have a strong case.
Get a protection order from the courts and if he ever touch you again he will have to pay. -
