1. be honest - state something that is evident, not lie or make things up
e.g : your new shorter hairstyle suits you well (when person has haircut)
2. specific - about what it is that you have noticed but dont go on and on. a line or two is good enough
e.g. the way you use the colours on this page is very co-ordinated.
3. say your feelings - about it
e.g. i like the way you did the presentation today, the music bit in the introduction was very clever
4. dont highlight yourself or anyone after the compliment.
