Personally know of this guy, my colleague who is going after a gal for a very long time and madly obsessed about her. But she hasnt or in doubts about accepting him. The guy is really sincere and poor thing the girl should be lucky to get him. He gets into bouts of depression often.
Till to this day he hasnt been out with any other girl, not even a single date.

Well, its nothing to go with gender. Its simply something to do with two individuals....one wanting something, the other not so sure.
Love and attraction are very difficult things to explain and analyse, aren't they? Sometimes we know that someone/something is really good, yet its appeal factor is low, no matter how hard we try.
We just have to accept that in life, we can't get everything we want. But to make up for it, there are some things which fall onto our laps. For most cases in the end, everything falls into place like a jigsaw puzzle and everything averages out. -

I got a question to the girls.. you want a man who is faithful to you but not rich or you want a rich man who cannot be faithful to you since he got the money to attract other girls ? I find out there many poor guys are more sincere and faithful than those who is rich because they learn how to appreciate what they have.

As sad as it may seem, I believe that the best idea is for the guy to move on.
I know what it feels like when you've been going after the perfect person for so long without having those feelings reciprocated. I pursued a girl for six years only to have her finally rejecting me. In those six years holding my love for her in my heart without telling anyone was a huge burden for me. I was heartbroken to have her rejecting me, but at the same time, I was, in a way, relieved that I finally had an answer and no longer had to carry the burden.
Tell him to move on. You don't want him to end up like me.... always carrying a huge burden on my shoulders, waiting for an answer that may never come.... and ultimately letting my teenage years slip by. -

Well..do be wary of him...he's probably a poor loser and can't face failure in life. Hmm...I hope he can self-struggled over his self-depression. Because if he is not able to overcome this minor crisis in this point of his life, I don't think any girls will feel secure being with him. Please advise him to be strong and overcome his own crisis...cos he'll be a better man after that.
The worst situation that can happened if he doesn't get her will be stalking her and rape her and kill himself after that. But......if he ever rapes any girl, he's going to hang upside-down in hell on his balls.

A broken heart mends with time, & with the appearance of the 1 who can sweep him/her off their feet. Blown-off limbs, like those poor children in Sierra Leone, can't grow back with time. Worse, some have infected wounds, resulting in gangrene/infection, & then they die. Is Not their suffering tons worse compared to your honest & sincere guy?

Yes, sadly, he didn't get her in the end. His life still needs to go on, he still needs to work, he still needs to make a living, cos mother earth never stops spinning.
Although the depression has sub-sided, he still can't forget her, he tried to numb his feelings by marrying himself to his job. He'll learn to be a better person. Some things are meant to be, some things are not. Some of u guys here had commented i am in love with him or sumthing along the lines. I only have pity for him.
In a way he see ms to echo my situation too > for those who had read my previous threads about a guy i had love for.
He is different from other guys who would just go for another woman. But this guy had been after the same girl since he was 19, he is 26 now. -

1) sincere and honest pple may be unlucky in certain aspect, but definitely not the ones that suffer most... only the foolish (and those are mawkish when it comes to BGR) suffers most...
2) lucky or not might be subjective... the girl-in-qn might have qualities for the guy to die for, but honestly, if he had chosen to move on and meet another girl, who knows he might see some other qualities in the new girl that is lacking in the girl-in-qn... in short, u gain some, u lose some.. but in end, if makes a person happy, that's gd enuff...
3) the guy seems unhappy with his current position... may b he should really consider taking a painful step of moving on... advice him to take some time off to think seriously abt it...
i might have taken a very tough stand, but sometimes, itz better to cut short the pain...
