MOE says they believe sg kids shd go thru sg education system.....somemore say our education system is world-class......
then later parents shoot in the ST forum
got one lady say her husband will be posted to US for work and the kid just started school......she want to let her kid experience the style of US first before going over.....
then MOE say will see case-by-case.... -
depends on ur age range as to whether r u affected by the compuslory edu act..
if yes -> pls approach MOE as its a case by case basis
if no -> do wat ever u want

Approach whichever school you want.
Get the application forms.
Sit for the appropriate aptitude tests. Get ready the money for the next few years of lessons, pubbing, school tours, parties, discos etc. I've heard that they had problems with drugs and guns. Maybe govt schools too, i don't know. But you might need to prepare bail money and lawyer fees just in case you get framed or something.
Of course Singaporeans can apply for international schools. Most of these schools have school terms like that of Europe and China ie they have summer holidays much longer than in Singapore. Then most of your school mates will return to their home country for summer hols.
Besides the usual expats' brat attitudes, I heard some have very good teachers. SAS if I'm not wrong has one economics teacher who was a Havard graduate, teaching junior high school (secondary/jc) level.
LHL's eldest son was in one of the international schools too. Not sure if still there. -

my fren went to american sch after his o level and he graduated from it last yr and after tat, he went to america for his degree straight away...now he's back in singapore for his summer vacation

Even if ur child is under the compulsory education act, just say u will home school him and then secretly sent him to international sch lor

Australian Internation School is good....my angmoh fren also study there....
its fully airconditioned with gym,pool etc etc....
