Is ITE really that bad?

i am currently studing sec3 NA stream..basically still can cope with school work..usually get 70+ for el and chi..after 16 years old should i go ite or continue with to study sec5 and try to poly or JC..i really wish to leave the sec sch..i dont adapt well in my new class at all..so sad
i always heard from my cousins and friends and parents that ITE is not good better not to go..isit really that bad? -

I am proud to say that ITE wasn't bad at all..Tell me what makes you think its bad? IS it people remark.If it is, it can be very damaging

ITE is where those people cannot do well in their studies go there and do technical work..
there are bad people there...but the point is ARE YOU GOING TO BE LIKE THEM?? there are many reports where the ITE students have won their poly counterparts in jobs...
so does it mean that Uni is the best and ITE is the worst? If you think so,you might want to do some self-thinking

Me Last batch of VITB ( ITE ) and very first batch of ITE grads. Am proud to say I learn alot in there. After working 10yrs since I ROD, earning twice now compare to wat I earned in 95.

being an na student...i can cope with only chinese and english..any chances i can take Olevels english and chinese outside? isit expensive?

No. You will have a job. Just look at the newspaper. Most 90% of ITE graudates found job within three months. I think you listen to people remark it damaging of course. Do you have proof that you can't find job and its not good. From people said, Crap!

Friend stop thinking negative, take my advice i have experience from ITE workshop as well.Thank positive..Means think good side or you will discount your Self-Esteem.

i sec1 and 2 is in express very confident to study poly next time..but sec2 i lazy play and play grand theft auto then drop to sec3 NA..after i dropped i have no confidence in myself at all.

nowaday exam are all pass 10 years paper. do them over and over again,
but you can get good result , not good knowledge -

it depends on the individual.
i know quite a lot of people with ITC certificates whom are very successful. some are even General Manager and owners of companies.
there are university graduates whom dont do well in their career too.
it is the general behaviour of ITE students that gave people a negative impression. -

life will be very tough with just secondary education. -
First, my advise for you is to continue with your studies to secondary 5 inorder to attain your GCE 'O' level. Note: NITEC (NTC3/NTC2) is 2 years course and there after another 2 years course for Higher NITEC (ITC).
If you stop at GCE 'N' level, then your only choice is to enrol for NITEC for 2 years course then Higher NITEC for 2 years then Diploma for 3 years course...

but, seriously, i think if given a choice between ITE and Poly, i guess most pple will choose poly..
anyway, if u finish your ITE education and wish to further, you will also go Poly..
so why spend another 2-3 years in ITE? Might as well go straight to poly? -
Actually ITE is not that bad. I remember reading a report on The New Paper and theres a poll on employers preference on employees and most of them prefers ITE graduates coz they have hands on skills. Another way you look at it is joining in the Higher Nitec u are able to learn some hands on skill and after u graduate u can go straight for a diploma and you starts at year 2, which may be good and bad.

no ITE is not bad ... i have frenz who go to poly from ITE .....
hw about changing class ... can consult yr teacher better than leaving school -

Why so pessimistic?
Work hard and strive to go to Express lor.
In my sec sch, the scholars came from NT and NA. They worked their way up to NA or Express.
I would advise u to take N level even if u cant get into Express..then from N go take O.. and then to Poly.. it all depends on ur determination and hard work.

ITE isnt a dead-end. ITE graduates make up the highest percentage of entrepreneurs.
on that note... i have a colleague in Uni now.. she's doing her PhD in economics. she went to ITE, did real well. entered poly .. obtained a scholarship when she completed her diploma. came to UNSW, grad with 1st class honours and doing real well now
dun despair yah! -
a suggestion, read tuesdays with morrie... it's a good book.. with a particular chap that i'd like to quote but i dun have the book with me now. that chapter talks about society norms, the culture n all that.
it's all what u wanna make of it.
i was tellin my sis to go for ite instead of poly the other time... -

Only thing here is... When you mentioned that you don't adapt well in your current class and really wish to leave your school? May it be ITE, Poly or JC... What are you going to do NEXT when you don't adapt well again...?
