When I was a teenager, I had a parent just like that. Dad would sometimes (very rarely) say sorry, but my mother never would. Perhaps it stems from their belief that they should appear infallible in front of children, & also, being children, we should accept the fact that they don't ever need to apologise, & we should respect them notwithstanding any mistake they had/have made, & will continue to make.
I'm 28 this year, & I still experience the same problem as you. I suppose the habit is too ingrained in parents of their generation. We hafta accept it, they are probably too set in their ways to change. The only thing you can do is to grow up, & become different parents to your offspring : )

My mama do apologise when she is in the wrong now. but when I was younger, she doesnt say sorry, she just explained that she is in the wrong. I guess your parents have the thinking that they as a parent should appear to be flawless to the kids. -
My dad is so egoistic, very very very rarely say sorry.
In my whole life, I believe I've heard him say sorry to me less than 10 times. -
My dad not even more then 5 times. He doesn't meant it though.

Another incident:
Last year, fireworks fest at Marina Bay. My dad parked his car next to some shophouses beside CBD. Near Telok Ayer area, I think.
Why? "save money on parking"
Nvm.... so I walked ahead of him to Clifford Pier.
After show finished, handphone network jammed. Can't find him anywhere. Only managed to call him about 20 minutes later.
Guess what?
My dad angry asked me where I was!!!
I should be the one asking that!
He scolded me. Why I never go back to the car!
Outrageous!
He never tell me to go back to carpark after the show. Never told me where he is. Made me wait and call in desperation for so long. Didn't accept my explaination that mobile network jammed.
And scolded me for this all the way home!!! -
Alas... Such are just things in life... When you're much older and you look back and think back.. You might just find them amusing and of sweet memories...?

you might even end up doing it when you are a parent.
i know most people will say 'i am not like that!!'. but you never know. after you are not a parent yet and you are not that old yet.
only time will tell.
btw, most parents behave more or less the same way. so what i said hold some truth.
