I completely agree, but everyone starts somewhere, so make sure you learn how to keep the flame going don't rely on anyone else.Originally posted by Devil1976:If you don't know how to run a LDR, it'll just run FLAT in NO TIME...
PS. Don't rely too much on the PHONE CALLS alone... PHONES are DEAD OBJECTS.
Mmm... I actually thought of writing a book on that...?Originally posted by nuchio:today was at central library ..
saw a book "how to survive a long-distance relationship"
dont know who wrote it but flipped it and found it rather helpful...
talked about how you feel like giving up etc and how to go about maintaining the relationship.

Absence makes the heart go yonder..Originally posted by supafatty:You better put in alot of effort into a relationship if you really feel that she's worth your time. When I say alot, I mean a f*cklot.
With a normal relationship, you should seek to be boyfriend and husband material at the same time. but with a long distance relationship, you got to do that and multiply that presence by almost 2 times.
To be in love is a wonderful thing, so don't ever give up because you're not physically together. It's a test, absence makes the heart grow fonder, and it does. Beyond conversations, there's video conferencing, love letter sending (see yea i know there's email, but there's nothing half as magically romantic as pen and paper; it doesn't have to be words, it can be a cute drawing, to origami). Send her gifts and presents, there are many ways to do that, you can buy in SG and send up, or you can just pick up the phone and call someone in the region to deliver and charge to your card.
Let her know you miss her, and be open with her, you know that this girl is special when you can look her in the eye and be yourself; do not be afraid to show any side of you, even you doing er xin stuff like farting or burping .. an sms periodically, once in the morning, out of the blue, just to let her know that you think of her.
Then when it comes to being reliable and secure, let her know that you'll put in all the effort in the world to make sure it works out, bring yourself down to earth and tell her to never ever leave you.
Hey I'm telling you all this not to teach you how to sian charboh ok, but do it only because you truely feel it .. but then again, in any case .. unless you truely feel that way, you probably wouldn't be able to do it anyway .. don't ever lead her on for nothing, if you don't feel that way, end it now, save yourself the time pain and trouble; and her too.
All the Best,
