I for one have encountered numerous employers who feels that a basic degree is sufficient . i'm not ruling out an mba .. but 5years into your career ? it's way too premature from my point of view ..
if you've got the skills, experience and the right attitude, you can be sure that mba or not you're going to climb the corporate ladder faster than anyone else. if you lack in all that .. then an mba would probably help do that for 1 to 2 years after you finish the course .. and after that .. it'll just go back to the mudane standstill that it always was.

I do agree with you to some extend. But with an MBA, with the right amount of skills and attitude, you can immediately apply for a higher post instead of just the same old location u once were.
it will be a good investment.. But it will be a difficult task to go thru. Taking into account your memory power slows down when you are older.
