Work..STRESSED

  Hi forummers,
  Recently i changed a new job which offers an increment of close to extra 1k in pay..so I was rather excited..
  
  However..ever since day 1 till now, i did not manage to gain a rapport with anyone..i tried to strike conversation/buy food for them/joke during lunch etc..but all seem so discreet..
  
  I know I have no social problems as all my previous work places, i had so many close colleagues..
  
  Most of them seem to care only for their own jobs...and so cold ..colleagues don't speak too much with each other as well..so dead quiet...even if there is talk, it's just some courteous greetings..
  
  I used to enjoy going to work..but ever since i see my new colleagues..i feel so demoralised..should i just leave this place? I have reached a point where i don't feel happy going to work..

  if being happy in workplace is more important than earning $, then maybe leave...
  
  but should try different approach to build rapport with them...if still cannot then talk about leaving lor

  time.. intially during earlier stage there will be high tension and low cohesiveness between you guys.

  many people have reached a pt where they felt DEPRESSED going to work everyday...
  
  urs seemed like a small problem, ur collegues are just quiet, not as if they hate u or make ur life difficult...

  Talk work lor. Very simple and everyone will understand. Or buy them coffee... works everytime..

  If you don't feel happy working there, you won't enjoy going to work, and as a result you won't enjoy doing what you do there. And most probally you won't do well. Working is for a lifetime, you gotta love what you do, and as Steve Jobs puts it, the only way to succeed is to do what you consider great work, and that is to do what you love. How to acheive that, when going to work everyday already see their black face? Like going to have a celebration dinner after getting distinction for all your papers,a dn on the way *touch-wood* see somebody kena knocked down by car. Then the celebration mood no more rite? Don't feel like eating rite? Same thing. I think it's the extra pay that gets the employees so engrossed in work(or the $?).
