It could be other things other than a fear of responsibility, although I agree that it may be a case of the aforementioned. I'm afraid of having children, Not because I'm afraid of the responsibility in having & raising a child, but I'm afraid I may Not make a good mother.
I have a severe lack of patience for a screaming child, especially those throwing tantrums, & I certainly don't wish to smack my crying baby/toddler. Babies are extremely adorable, but when they're screaming right in your ears & hitting & kicking you, & generally making a nuisance of themselves in public, it grates on the nerves TERRIBLY
