Really stressed

I feel so weak when i am doing maths...its like simple maths question i also cannot do...or rather i think too complicated
for example: 3 sisters share a sum of money, the elder sister gets 1/3 of it, the 2nd sister gets 2/5 of it,the youngest gets $120..what is the sum of the money altogether?
The correct method should be
1- 1/3/ -2/5
=1- 5/15 - 2/15
=7/15
8/15= 120
1u=120/8
=15
15u= 15x15
=225
-------------------------------------
But my method would be
3/5=120
1u=120/3
=40
2u=40x2
=80
5u=40x5
=200
3-1=2u
2u=100
u=50
therefore 50+80+120
=250
--------------
That would be one of my examples...i keep on thinking too complcated...i feel so stressed up...if normal revision ends up like this...i dunno how i am gonna cope my Os

the thing with maths is...the more you stressed, the more you wun get it. You need a calm mind to be able to solve the problems
And of cos, practice makes perfect

One of the ways to make u feel more relexed while doing maths at your own leisure is by listening to music . This might help. Always worked for me.

youngest sis got = 1 - ( 1/3 + 2/5 )
= 1 - ( 5/15 + 6/15 )
= 1 - ( 11/15 )
= 4/15 which is equivalent to $120
Hence,
is equivalent to total sum of money
4 is equivalent to the amount youngest sis got = $120
thus 1 is equivalent to ( $120 / 4) = $30
hence sum of money altogether is equivalent to 15
thus
sum of money altogether = $30*15 =$450
take your time to read and understand the question frist, take time to think about it second, before you attempt to solve it -
You haven't reached my level yet.
I once stared at a question, scribbling for 2 hours and then ended up shouting out in frustration when in the end, it was due to a simple arithmetic error.
An advice for this will be get away from your maths stuff. Go do something you like, ex, call up a gal and sian her, watch porn or go to toilet and wank away your problems. -
1/3 + 1/5 + x = 1
x=4/15
15/4 x 120 = 450
puppy, choose easy ones u can really do and slowly and steadily pick up from there. Do as many as possible until you are pretty comfortable before attempting harder questions . Treat the paper as a normal school test and you will find it a breeze.
and stop playing lotgd till your papers are over...

maths is simple if you follow 3 rules.
1) Practice, Practice, Practice
2) Do not panic. read each qn carefully and understand exactly what the qn wants from you before you start. (sometimes it helps to start by listing down all the information the qn gives u. eg. 3 sisters. sum of money split into 3 shares. eldest = 1/3, second = 2/5, third = 3/5 = $120)
3) Practice, Practice, Practice (buy lots of 10 yrs series during my O'levels I did like 2-3 sets of 10 years series, after that you'll realise how similar all the questions are, it's just a change of name here, change of number there... but basic concept, and solution are all similar)
now is the time you should be practicing. you already know you are weak in maths. so stop wasting time online. sit down with your ten yr series. and a clock.
start the clock and start the ten yrs series. see how long it takes you to finish one paper and checking it. then slowly try to improve on your time. but most impt thing is that you need PRACTICE and you are running out of time to practice. so grab whatever chance you have, be it on the bus, while you eat, etc. PRACTICE all the way. -
Your topics and syllabus are trying you things... UNDERSTAND what you're SUPPOSE TO BE LEARNING.. Im stressed too... incompetent lecturers is givin me sh1t, uni-vice chancellor is wantin to kick me out, two friends met with an accident n has died, two friends i will never see again after next tuesday..

if u cannot do maths, it doesnt mean u cannot do biz stats, accounts or watever wor.. so hor maths is not everything.. dun stress urself too much.

Puppo, what grade do u expect to get for your maths?? maybe try to lower down ur expectations lor so wun feel so stressed. i also sometimes simple maths qns dunno how to sovle.

Maths is Not a subject you can do when you're feeling stressed out. You need your wits about you to think logically & accurately. Take a deep breath, & calm down & try again.
