Love is blind??

Heard many of u said love is blind, but I do not agree with it. For instance, parents love their children very much, but do they love their children blindly?no, whenever the child did a mistake, they scold him hoping he will change to the good person. Actually love is patience, caring, you care and respect the person..for someone who is 'blind' because of 'love', I don't think it's love at all. He/She who follows blindly or gave up blindly in someone they 'like' even though they know the other side is wrong is not does not have love but simply they are afraid of losing the person only. They only want the person to be their side. Any opinions?

What does "love is blind" mean...?
Does it mean you love a person blindly, or does it mean because you love a person hence you are willing to do things for that person blindly?

When you love a person blindly, you love that person without thinking why you do so.
When you love a person and do things for that person blindly, you MAY KNOW why you love that person and hence you do things for that person without justification.
Or are you trying to ask whether we agree with both interpretations?

That phrase, "Love is Blind", is open to many interpretations. Some people think like you, taking the phrase literally (which is NOT wrong, by the way). Some prefer to interpret it as accepting a person, faults & all.
It doesn't mean you don't correct a person when you love them. A parent wouldn't want a child to get into trouble with the law, or do anything to jeopardise his/her career, his/her life, etc. But despite all these faults a child may have, doesn't the parent still love them? If the child still had these faults, the parent wouldn't simply give up & stop loving them, right?
The above is the 2nd interpretation of Love is blind. You love that person despite that person having faults, even if you try to help the person overcome certain ones which you feel may be detrimental to their well-being.
If you smoke & your parent tells you Not to
their love is Not blind? Another way to interpret it is, your parent tells you Not to, but if you choose to continue your habit, they'll nag at you like mad but they'll still love you anyway

I think loving someone is to realize his/her flaws but knowing that you can accept him/her just the way he is...
I would say that infatuation is blind...cos usually we would be blind to their flaws and just love them according to the ideals in our mind... -

i think you got the wrong meaning of the phrase "love is blind"
It is never used in the context of love between parent and child....it is only used in the context of lovers.
When a person is in love with another, he is 'blind' to many shortcomings of his/her partner, he sees in that person what others dont and doesnt see what others do.
It happens to most of us even myself. I have ever fall in love with a girl that when i think about it now i do not know what i see in her that can make me love her like that. -

if a girl is willing to sell herself for her bf, she does not love herself. She's also still naive, therefore it's impossible for her to know the meaning of love. She's just in puppy love.
If a guy jump down from a block of flats he's still naive in his thinking and he does not love himself. He is totally immature.
If a guy stabing another guy over a women, He is selfish in his so called 'love' and does not love other's life. He's just donig anything he can to get what he wants - this is selfish and lust.
Are you trying to tell me people do crazy things because of love, and power of love can drive people crazy? You're only showing me that you still know nothing about love. All of your experience about 'love' is just the experience of infuatation that leads to emotion. -
If a person can't love him/herself or other's life other than the one he has feeling with, he/she has not understand love. If you have feeling for a guy/girl, you are infuatated to him/her.

i dont believe that love is blind, although i know it is inevitable that you will do things when you're in love that you'll find totally stupid when u are out of it. still, that is not blindness to me. that is hypnosis.

Perhaps wht 'love is blind' originally means that you can fall in love with anybody?
Usually that cliched phrase is used as an excuse though. -

'Love is blind' happens mostly during teenage years and yes it is inevitable, but try to avoid these sort of situations. I dun believe most will end up happily ever after, maybe onli a few. What cause the 'blindness' to your partner's faults etc... is your heart(Emotion). If u let your heart rules too much, your mind becomes
irrational & may do crazy or stupid thing.
I believe in balancing both.
*Heart = Emotion, Moods & so on & *Mind = Logic, Understanding & so on.

These are extreme cases, i would call it 'Tragic Love' or 'extreme blindness'. Please understand & remember ALL above are mainly cause by the Heart (our negative emotions). Sometimes we say that heaven is playing trick on us, but actually it is our *Heart that we lost control of. When that happens, depression + jealousy-possessive + anxiety + anger sets in, we are tempted to do crazy things. Conclusion: Heart/Love (Emotion). If u love some1 or even something VERY VERY MUCH. Usually your Mind cannot work properly, sometime it jus went blank. (Literally blinded in love). Dun let this happen guys
