I got a full refund and redraw from the course cos I not sure I will like it.. suppose to be MSCE..Originally posted by zeny:finish your course first.
Is better to get a cert or dip first.
Try not to think too much.
I'm so lost on the career track. Like walking around in the dark.. bumping into my interestsOriginally posted by browniebaobao:think u need time to really find out what is ur interest.. if not u will be wasting money and time.
dun act on spur of the moment lor.
That was good advice. I admit in the course of building my career I got disheartened and even jumped ship for "greener pastures."Originally posted by KumSioJui:Everybody got a goal or dream in life, you must have something you want to do.
We all like fishermen at the towns favorite fishing spot, everyday a new one comes along and hopes to catch the big one but at the end of the day sadly goes away empty handed but every new day brings a new hopeful. And one day someone does catch the big one.
Sometimes when you young or just graduated you have big big dreams but after a few years working one can become disillusioned and as age catches up and passes u by sometimes those dreams died or do not really matter any more. But you look over your shoulder you will always see a new someone filling the same shoes you wore when you first started out. But somebody eventually reaches his/her goal.
Dunno how to advice you as I too am still trying to live my dreams, I guess those who do reach their life goals be it that dream job or wealth, I have observed it is thru consistency. They just keep working and doing whatever they doing.
Remember the golden rule of 8 ball pool, until the number "8" ball goes it, it ain't too late.

How old are you? I dowan to spend the whole career doing something I dun like...Originally posted by KumSioJui:well, this industry really does get you down, I've been down and up and down and up again for the last 14 yrs.
Younger I used to be a vendor at a hot system integrator company our team were like cowboys always sent in to fix problems that nobody can resolve. They put us handling close to 400 unix sites 7X24X365. Though the hours were long and weekends often burnt and job difficult, I enjoyed working with my team and on rare occasions we would go out and blow several hundred a nite on drinks just to let off steam. My dreams were oneday I'd make senior or become a consultant
Then oneday something terrible happened people started leaving in droves and the whole team disintergrated, the bond we had was broken, my dream also somehow died and can never be the same again I too left & bumped around from job to job feeling angry and down.
There was even a time I didn't want to work for almost a year. Another time I thought I should change line but somehow the opportunity always present itself and I always found myself back in this line. Now I'm resigned that I'm born for this work. Though I may still resign from my current job
Though my current job is not as happening as before I guess I'm contented just to have a memory of what I used to do. My life is more simpler now, I time have to chat online, go out play pool watch movie, monitor stocks or go on vacation (see my BKK thread http://www.sgforums.com/?action=thread_display&thread_id=165410)
I dunno but I think sometimes problems or situations come your way and make you feel down and hopeless, I feel is good to take a break and try to think for yourself what influenced you to be like that then maybe try to work around it. I believe in fate and destiny and I feel that if you were meant for something else then the opportunity will present itself somehow.
Out of 10 maybe 1 will get to become really successful like bill gates or ah sim, but they don't get all the roses, they look over their shoulder and they see another ten more climbing to get to where they are and they are struggling to fight them off.Originally posted by The Den:How old are you? I think my situation is almost the same as you. No matter how u bump you still end up the same industry. Some say you already have the foundation.. you 'play safe'.
I have no idea how to cope wif the sudden dip of performance in my work now... I'm just dragging time on everything, sometimes feeling fustrated... want to go study but I'm having question marks over my head...
From an erly age my perception is career is the most important thing to a man... so this is kind of making me sad..
I had so high hopes on this job... it was supposed to "help me scale the ladder"... I feel I'm letting my boss down all the time... I lost a business deal for them last week..Originally posted by KumSioJui:Do you find yourself thinking abt problems at work even when u not at work? Yes
Do you find yourself getting angry over work? Maybe getting more and more irritatable and negative over minor things and those ard you? Yes
Maybe feel a cold knot in yur stomache whenever your think of going to work. Sometimes
