It was my birthday yesterday,
and my class mate, also my best friend ever, decided to apply for deferment in poly.
Simply put he wants to repeat the year, i tried to talk him around. But he chooses to repeat, i'm really lost, i don't want him to go. We've been friends since year one, we did everything together, we skip lessons together, even skipped lab tests. Study for exams together, now that i think about my year 3 without him really, makes me wanna cry.
I'll be alone,

I know it sucks that you won't be able to see him often, but that's the way it has to be. I know this sounds pretty blunt, but it's his life, and you can't expect him to to make potentially life-changing decisions based on your own needs.
If he thinks that repeating the year is in his best interests, then you should respect his wishes. A true friend is one who respects the wishes of others irrespective of their own feelings. By expecting him to conform to what you want, you're just being plain selfish.
I'll say it again: accept his decision and move on. That's what a true friend would do.
