Losing a friend

It was my birthday yesterday,
and my class mate, also my best friend ever, decided to apply for deferment in poly.
Simply put he wants to repeat the year, i tried to talk him around. But he chooses to repeat, i'm really lost, i don't want him to go. We've been friends since year one, we did everything together, we skip lessons together, even skipped lab tests. Study for exams together, now that i think about my year 3 without him really, makes me wanna cry.

I know it sucks that you won't be able to see him often, but that's the way it has to be. If he thinks that repeating the year is in his best interests, then you should respect his wishes. A true friend is one who respects the wishes of others irrespective of their own feelings. By expecting him to conform to what you want, you're just being plain selfish.
I'll say it again: accept his decision and move on. That's what a true friend would do. -

Pls....u r a guy...he still ur friend, just that u wun be together all the time, sometimes gathering at times gives more warmth..at the same time, it is kinda test for a friendship !

Dude, he's still gonna be your friend be it in year 2 or year 3. I have lost a good friend to a girl. The girl means more to him than our 2 years of ups and downs. o.O this one even worse than me...
boy ah... friends no need everyday see each other one. when you graduate, you will see him even less... as long as you take time to meet on weekends, or chat over msn should be fine. learn to be independent when your friends cant be there for you. if he wants to repeat a year, it only means he is not ready to graduate with you. do you really want to sabotage his future just so you can be with him?
think for your friend if you are his friend. -
Singapore Poly allow you to just repeat the year meh? Was your best friend GPA that bad or what?
