hello people.
Recently i got together with this really sweet malay girl. Everything was fine until her dad found out i was Christian. Now he says we can't be together unless i convert to Islam, which of course i won't. So i'm kinda in a dilemma now. Advice anyone? -

This is probably one of the few difficult hurdle to overcome.
And could be a game of endurance.
Years back, I remember my uncle (chinese) brought my aunt (malay) to ROM, without her parents knowing and got married. Her parents was furious and like wanna disown-kind of drama mama. Years later... all the children grew up. With alot of communication, in the end, also relent and accept. I mean your OWN grandchildren leh... now already 20++, got a good career and gf.. probably planning to get married... and somemore the marriage is harmonious kind, not those screwed up ones.
If you wanna pursue such relationship, be prepared for the challenge ahead. If you can't take what's in front, don't begin.
P.S: Jupiter affliction is not easy to handle in BGR.

Have you asked her about her opinion on both of you being of different faiths? Both of you have to see eye-to-eye on this...it won't last if you can't agree on an amicable solution.

Chinese girl better lah in terms of communication/back ground/culture etc. You'll face more problem if you stay on with your present gf.

I can't believe what I'm hearing...are circumcision, abstinence all there is to it? Does convenience through same-ethnicity relationships matter so much more than a caring heart and trust? Are these realities not worth working around? And we've only heard what her father said.

I'm afraid this is a very sensitive and difficult issue. First of all let me clarify some stuff. If you are to convert, it has to be willingness on your part and it has to be because you really want to be a muslim and not because you want to marry the girl. Muslims can have sex why not? Only when the wife is having her period or is pregnant, then it is forbidden. Other then that it is green light all the way.
Since you have already state your stand of not interested in becoming a muslim, there is no other way for you two to get married unless she drops her muslim religion which i seriously think the father would strongly disagree. Before the relationship gets any deeper and both of you have made your religion decisions clear, I guess parting is the best but saddest solution. -

Sigh. I guess it was partially my fault also lah. Didn't take the religion part of it into consideration. But if i leave her, she will definitely be VERY upset. Cos her family is really EFFED up...parents separated and all that. Her legitimate birth is also a big qn.
Yah and i have yet to hear what MY parents think. Cuz they don't know. LOL.

Btw what's Jupiter affliction? It is usually conflicts with Jupiter, with other planets (affliction), that give rise to scenario like religion.

Hi there.. The thing about Islam is no matter how hard or difficult it is, religion is top priority. Love comes after that or whatever. Of course she will be upset, but she is given 2 choices or rather both of you are given 3 options. Break up(the sooner the better so that love does not strengthen and grow along with delayed time), she converts out of Islam, or you convert into Islam. I don't see any other choices. If you really love her a lot and wants to give it a try, then try knowing and learning more about Islam so that converting will come naturally for you, but I doubt you would want to do that and you are not obliged to do so. Religion and love nvr mix...Don choose a religion just for the sake of love.It's not worth it! For me I will nvr convert to Islam,I will rather leave the woman I love most than force convertion.....

LOL you all got the wrong idea about Islame. I suggest you all just do a search on it on wikipedia before making it out to be a rigid religion.
But to the threadstarter if you don't even remotely considered converting into Islam then i suggest you break it off with the girl. No point if your going to forsake your religious duties as a muslim just cos you love the girl.
