SOS sumone?

  Hi, i got a problem buggin me since i was in secondary school..
  
  There was a time when my parents brought our whole family to Genting for holiday.. My dad brought a large packet of chewing gum to Sg and we we stopped at custom. When the police asked for a passport to copy down the name, My dad USED MY PASSPORT!!
  
  OMG, i was drop dead furious!! I talked to my parents about how irresponsible they were for doing that but they just brushed it off, saying it's not shown in the police database etc etc. (btw, the police just copied my name and ask me to sign, duno he got key in computer not)
  
  Sum ppl out there pls advice me on this?? I'm going to the workforce soon and i'm reali keen to join the govt sector.. I'm afraid such an incident will affect my career prospect..
  
  I mean, it's not my fault in the first place, why shld i suffer such a disadvantage for sumthing i did not do?
  
  Sumone in police force/govt sector pls advice me?? Anyone just post sum comments i wanna hear frm u guys.. Thanks

  Are you being fined or given any court orders ?
  
  If your answer is "NO", then you're safe.
  
  Reasons are simple. The signature that you've put down is actually to admit that you've bought in that packet of chewing gum and you agreed to have the item confiscated and disposed off by the Custom Officer,in layman terms, just to release them off any liabilities. And thus, that is just for that particular purpose and you name is not recorded or "Blacklisted" in any way. Don't worry, you are safe.
  
  But if you're caught the 2nd time with the same offend, it will be a different scenerio.
  
  Don't blame your parents because what they've done is actually protecting themselves and You. Do you want to see your parents being hauled to court or blacklisted and causing them to lose their job ? No right ? Right now, just move on with it and apply for your job.

  Sia.......it's such a minor thing.....even if theres any record of any kind, it's just like traffic offence or littering or what loh....so minor one lah.......dont worry abt it.

  I'm currently 18 now waiting for As so most prob 5 yrs or so to workforce provided i go to the Uni.. Whew, thanks for the advices guys, U guys are the reason Sgforums still has sum hope despite being flooded wif clones like Dillip Kumar and Mr Koh.. LOL Thx~
