Jc or Poly

hmm just really confused, jc or poly since if got a choice now. My result isn't very good but i feel like i might not do well if i were to go jc and my As might not even be good enough for me to go uni. If i screw my stuff in jc, i will still be back to square one, noting. If in poly, at least i can still have a specialised skill that i can count back on, perhaps even get a job with the diploma. There might even be a slight percent of going to uni also.

jc...if u are not confident...dun try...u will get burned...
poly u have nearly 3 years to get your act together...jc...just slightly more than a year before your A level...fail and then buang... -

i monkey see-ed and do-ed... and now i'm down a path i'm not interested in. you won't know what you want to do now. so do most of the students at your age. i would give this advise, follow your interest. or whatever course that will help you in your interest. -

no one will like to deal with this type of situation. pri sch is a choice of em1 or e2, then which sch u wana go and then in upper sec, more diff subjects... i mean yes, it is able to differs us from each of our talents but the turn back route is really far now, if u don like the course or the route are in, u still have to stick to it for a long time. -

unless you are goverment scholar then you can become "successful" after ur study else there no gurantee man it all depend on ur hardwork and not just that piece of paper which we convet so much. -

business? they have courses there. should you be really interested, then you will upgrade to the degree. unless you're planning to work for a government agency. i would suggest that you start from the bottom. i'm not saying poly is the bottom, if that was so, i'd be below the bottom. but just work your way up, understand the system. most importantly is interest. if you are going to like what you will be doing, you will excel in it naturally, rather than forcing information you don't like into your head. -

my life have been widen up ever since i starting working in the society, cert is noting but a piece of laminate papers, it is ur skill that can be placed into good use that really matters. someone told me, even if both of us comes out from same sch or courses where the other party got a better grade, he will still be at advantage since he is able to solve problems shoot at him during interview. -

someone from ITE probably might come up with better solutions than some people from Universities. its all about YOU, not the certificate. -
My sister also think about this as her humanities (History) Screwed up her L1
B4 score.
Now my family all headache. -

Think of it this way.
Econs: who cheaper, poly or Jc? Transport is 100% Adult fare for poly students.
Road to higher learning: who easier? Sadly, a lot of poly students cannot get into
local uni, other then SIM, after grad. Yes, there are some examples of poly grads who are paid high, but a much more secured position with better bargaining power for pay is the grads.
And if you are thinking of going into engineering, I suggest you to think twice.
Nothing wrong with engineering, but more of pain and suffering when you grad.
Engineers in SG are the lowly paid compared to the job they have to do, sometimes, the AE is paid better.

My Personal views,it should be better to go to poly,as u can apply what u study there when u work next time.Secondly i am currently in Uni now,some of my peers used to be from JC and find it extremely hard to cope with Uni stuff,likewise i am more adapted to studies from the experience gain in poly.
Thirdly some of the Uni offered exemption for poly students,hence those graduated from poly might be able to obtain a degree just by 2 years which result in a reduce of a yr sch fees.(Uni sch fees are super expensive!!!!)NUS n smu has even raise sch fees now,who know what will happened in the furture right. -

If you can identify your area of interest and what you would like to do in the future and if there is a course in poly that suits you, poly or ITE will be a better choice.
If not, JC then.
Or, rest for a year, think about what you really want in life. -
Go JC and chiong hard if you're still unsure about your path.
Go Poly is you know what you really want to do and chiong harder.
Go ITE if you are severely lost. You get to play and discover who you are. -
See, if you go poly and you decided you're uninterested in the course its no harm changing it at the end of the year. You're still young and such cases happen often in poly. You make feel left behind by 1 year but i tell you, when your 35 years old in a career that uninterests you you'll be feeling even more sorry for not staying back a year to start a new course.
