I am 23 male i wish to learn some dance to fullfill my free time, i kknow there is Latin, Salsa, New jazz, hip hop and break dance, i am quite interesting in salsa and latin, but i really don't wht is the diff, is these 2 a boring dance that learn by most autie and uncle?

Actually, salsa is damn fun. Who say only uncle auntie learn those dances?
I suggest you learn with someone, at least it keeps your motivation higher and less tendency to quit.

Main difference? The music used?
Salsa more light-headed sort of dance, latin slightly more serious in my opinion. Both are equally great, but as for Salsa... you have salsa clubs... so can show off your skill and socialise if you think you are good enough.

I hve been learning dance for quite some time and just started salsa 2 months ago, simply love it. If you want, u can come to the salsa club at union, amara shopping centre level 2. they are open everyday from 9pm. there you can see the variety of salsa dancers. Latin is a broader category that includes cha cha, etc... well no harm, come and have a look. I will prob be there fri or sat night. leave me your number at email [email protected]. I will give u a ring when i going down so that u wont be alone ...

I learned ballet in Singapore Dancing Theatre quite long time le.
I felt like if you can keep go and learn for long time also not easy thing, because sometimes got a lot hmk to do, then will think go or not.....if i go , then maybe i will do hmk whole night....but if dun go, then feel miss something....so final chose to go.....
Dancing can made us leave stress........

Salsa is one part of the Latino dances.
Salsa is popular more because of its easy steps and fast daring routines. Easier to dance to any beat at most pubs, discos & anywhere with fast music.
Think Shakira, Ricky Martin & some canto techno. Even Mambo No.5 once you got the beat.
You know the Macarena? Similiar origins but quite more of a different moves. Macarena is co-ordinated while Salsa is more fun and unexpected dancing with a partner.
Try the Salsa dancing with some reputable dance studios like Jitterbugs, Attitude Dance Studio and some more. Avoid the Cummnity Centres if you can.
BTW, students or NS boys has discount rates for classes. -

A 1.85 metre guy, with 23 inches wide shoulders and dunno how long his arm span can do it in a HDB lift, I dont see why not. -

Its actually quite a gentlemen sport, and I have known some seriously overweight or even big men taking up dancing and sliming down like any streneuous sporting activities they do.
It looks slow and relaxing, but dancing actually makes you uses muscles on your body which you are not even sure existed.
And dancing with partners is totally putting yourself in the control of your partner. (thats for the ladies part.)
For males, YOU are the Control! (You control her moves, her next moves and initiate all the moves.) So its actually quite a macho sport once you really know it. -

If memory serves. Shawn & Gladys dance studio offers Latin dance classes that include these 3 latin dances.
1) Latin Cha Cha
2) Rhumba
3) Salsa/Jive
You will have to check with the schools to know more.
But.....Salsa being the easiest you can try your feet at cos its pretty generic nowadays.
And Salsa, you dont need to worry about dance partners, cos most schools has ready stream of ladies and they will welcome you partnering them.
