  hmmz.. juz to side track a lil.
  
  when one party cries, it doesn't mean he or she is weaker/softer .. also sometimes it doesn't even mean that he or she is the victim.
  
  juz to quote u an example.
  
  a couple is quarrelling in public. the guy is half-kneeling on the floor, in tears. while the girl is standing with a cold attitude,not even looking at the guy.
  
  our 1st thoughts would prolly be:
  
  "wah.. that girl so cruel ah. make the bf cry until like that."
  
  or..
  
  "aiyo.. muz be the girl wan to break up with the guy, then he begging her."
  
  but wat if i tell u, its actually the guy who two-timed the girl and was caught red-handed in bed. the girl is heart broken and decides to leave him, but now the guy regret it coz the 3rd party dumped him and he wants his gf back. thats y he's crying and begging her not to leave. but the girl is too heartbroken to accept him back.

  both sides do ditch each one another..but apparently judging from this forum, it seems the guys get ditched much more.
  
  maybe it's becos girls have more power now because they are able to earn their income.
