  my dip is definitely not half past six one. i'm confident with it. i have a design dip from tp.
  
  i want to get a degree eventually but i want an art degree. as far as i know, my design dip will not gain me entry into an art degree, not nafa or lasalle at least, and one of these two is needed before moe consider me.
  
  if i were to do 'a' levels, which is something i am definitely considering, i would want it to eventually lead me to an art degree too. but point taken, it is not exactly more relevant to an art degree than my design diploma is.
  
  but people, if i want to take private 'a's, can i take art as a subject? that is my most important question now.

  FYI, NTU dun accept private A students even if u haf good grades for ur cert. i'm not sure abt other Uni tho.

  tats bullshit, i am from NTU and i have classmates that were private candidates and scored B C C in the A levels. Its all a matter of grades, sad to sat though..however, the cut-off criteria for different courses vary yr by yr, hence some many, its a matter of luck too!

  aiyoh ppl, someone answer me leh, can i take 'arts' as a subject for private 'a's... if cannot i have to stop thinking abt it the trace new routes to my hoped destination. =)

  Go ahead if you really want to have a 'A' Level cert. But if you just wanna be a teacher, they should have a course for you to study for a few years before you become a qualified teacher. You might wanna check out MOE instead.
  
  Although it may be cheaper to get 'A' Level cert than a basic degree, it does save you time if you go for those 8months full-time degree programmes offered by Informatics from overseas universities. -> Fastest way to be a degree holder and fastest way to get yourself enrolled as a teacher.
  
  Don't allow anyone to sway you away from your ambition to be a teacher. You may not do as bad as they think of you, and I'm sure you'll do better than them if you really wanna be a teacher. Most of them don't even know what they are doing in their life, let alone advise you.
