sigh.. i realised that the part time jobs that earn more are those that are commission based. and they all have to do with approaching pple almost all the time.
another thing is that in sales, u need to know what to say... and i find that this is just not me although i wanna earn more bucks. seriously i can't think so any ideas to earn more bucks other than sales alone. if there're any other ideas of jobs with exception to sales, can anyone pls tell me?
hmm.. but if not, how does a reserved person and an introvert be able to improve himself in this sales line?
i admit, i'm not good with my words and tend to sound too direct at times.
think i woke up at the wrong side of the bed today... pretty moody and frustrated. -

The best sales person I encounter are those who know their product well, know how to explain their uses. And listen to my needs (and I don't talk in I need this function but I would say some I am emotionally attached to this other brand) and the sales person immediately know the feature I was looking for mand recommend the product I want.
Its not about talking like those hard sell kind. Its the gentle and yet relationship building kind of selling - you get to know a little of your customer to serve them better.
To know how to be a good sales person, you also need to try going out and try out all sorts of sales promoters and learn the good tricks from them and also learn their mistakes and how not to make that mistake. -
If the product sells itself then you can do minimal talking. Its all about inter-personal skills and you can only develop these by just talking to any stranger. I used to be an introvert until i was forced to talk to strangers and it became an ease. Most singaporeans are faced with this problem because we are soooo shy, and our western counterparts make it so easy because they are brought up to be extroverts. -

but i learned the trick is to treat everyone like strangers, and not to care what they will think, or the impressions they will make of you. Just plunge yourself right into it. If you screw up, dosent matter; try again. Practice makes perfect.
a line i found to be 'effective' would be: "Would you like XXXXX with that?"
u probably noticed this line in McDonalds when the cashier asked: "Would you like fries with that?". Noticed how many people automatically say Yes?
lets say you sell vaccum cleaners, you could always ask: Would you like extra dust cover bags with that? 
alternatively, if you sell shoes (pardon my stereotype of saleman selling either shoes or vaccum cleaners), you can always ask: What colour shoelaces do you like with that?

"Upsize?" -
1)always be in charge of the conversation between you and the customer...
2)know your products well...very well...have confidence in them...(if you don't have,find another sales job,the product probably sucks).
3)be confident...eye contact is the sign of confidence...
4)be assure of all sales procedures...like form of payment...pricing..interest...installment all kinds of stuff...
5)when unsure...ALWAYS ask your more experience workers or full-timers...if got any tai ji...also their problem...haha
(do not be afraid to ask...if you think you bother them too much with your constant blabbering...be more polite when asking them questions...and say thank you after that)
6)always be in high spirit...if you are down because you can't make any sales...its okie...take a break or a smoke and collect your thoughts...
7)never be down...your customer can feel the negative vibe and probably wont buy from you...
this kind of thing take time to train and there are much more factors that encourage good sales... -

the question you should now examine is this: what are your core competencies, strengths, weaknesses?
if you can't fit into the job because of your personality or lack of talent in this field, forget about it. move on to jobs that you're good at and passionate about... and the money will inexorably flow in. -
and also, you mentioned that it is a part time job. how long do you intend to work? what are your qualifications?
