1. Watching News
2. Ancient History as well as Modern History in World War 2
3. Military Equipment
4. Computer Games
5. Water Sports
6. Extreme Sports
Ok... Whats so Wrong about these Interests ? People keep saboing me say i Army garang... What the hell... Like that also garang... Because i like these stuff dosent mean that i am garang what... And what is wrong with these interests.... Like i've seen many of you posting... what you like is your interests... not others...But clearly i have kept my own interests to my OWNSELF... Why do people Have to sabo you say becos these are your interests...you are crazy or siao...
I've seen many people nowadays, their only interest is DOTA and Maple... and Girls... Go Clubbing, Go Have sex around... Because i Differ so Much from them or I dont even Like mapling.... Why must i Be forced to Follow.... I know myself is didnt force others to follow my way of thinking... Are these People selfish or what ? Or is it another typical KiaSu Singaporean thinking?? Can anyone enlighten Me

And I hear English Songs More than Chinese Songs.....I dont Think theres anything Wrong what ?! Its all Personal Preference... My Decisions dont affect other People... But why are they being affected by what i do ??

I supposed your friends are still young? How old are they? 20? 22? What your interest in is for your own liking. Do not be concerned with their comments that makes you upset because they do not seem to find something better to say like, "Who da current champ of rock climbing?" or "Whats da latest military model dat you tink can be implemented in SG?"
Of course you cannot say their interests are stupid too. DOTA, Maple, club, girls, etc, etc. Its the current "in" thing many people are following. I have friends who play DOTA and I kinda like it, I do not like Maple even though it is cute, the people you face online tends to make you angry easily and too addicted to it has a "less than" nice effect on the person playing. Clubbing, girls, etc, etc are simply more general stuffs for guys and girls. They can communicate well due to a common topic or interest.
I like ancient history and military equipments (to a certain extent). I know abit about Roman era and much on China history (especially the 3 kingdoms period) and I know a fair amount of some weapons and specifications (Is P90 the more prefered weapon for special ops or smth in US? I noe dis 1 go ask in Military nuts or other Military related forum), I like video games and more common things like "bio" girls (
) and etc, etc.
From what you have typed, I see you have mingled with this particular group of friends quite alot. If you still have some issues, you can either tell them about it OR you mingle with them less and with some other people who appreciate your interests more.
No one can stop you from loving what kind of interests you like. Its in your onus to make sure you do not get affected by their remarks too negatively. You can simply treat it as "I am different, no big deal" and smile back. -
I am 20.. They are mostly 18 to 22 or 23...In fact those that went through army has this thinking that they hate the army so my interest in military stuff is not common...Or when you have this interest they call you crazy ?

This has more to do with their exposure to the enviornment AND the culture of life in Singapore. I am sure you have many different groups of friends. When you meet each different group, you can put some topics aside (unless got nth more to tok abt den bo pian loh...) and communicate as per normal. Which is WHY it is not easy to find a group of people to whom you can easily talk about ANYTHING and have no fear of repercussion.
Being unable to talk what you want is just simply unbearable to you and that is why we have very few CLOSE friends because not all can relate well to whatever topic we talk about and not all are also willing to share anything with you too. They too may think, "Aiyah, if I tok abt underwear, he/she may not like..." and they do not know you may actually feel fine talking about it instead of saying, "Wah... so garang..." or "Siao eh...!"
Thus the lack of communication through ALL channels and thus HARD and time consuming to be close friends.
Its simply your call to talk about what to which of your friends. Who knows some may like it and interact better? -

erm hello...I am a girl and I love reading history. I always visit history forums..viewing pictures regarding history. Love my history sub in school (always score the highest)...lol? Doesn't mean I love the army

Seriously i also dont know what the world has become... What your interest differ from so many people... People try to make you think their way... i also never go around spread to people my interest in the 1st place... Than when they want to change you they insists they are right and follow the right way and asks you to change your mind...

There is nothing wrong with your interests and directions in life...
Don't be pressurise by your peers... everyone has his own interests in life and no one can determine whether is it right or wrong as each one of us is individual and special...
Thus don't get too bother with it as long as you are not harming yourself or the ones around you...
