Problems that I face in r/s

I got to know this girl through online, she came from mynmar a year ago to study. I'm a local btw, I find both of us were quite match and we have a lot of things in common such as sports. We can interact smoothly.
But the problem is, she don't even allow me to hold her hands or even gave her a good bye kiss when we are togther. We are in 2 weeks of r/s, when asked her abt this issue, she told me that she don't even allow her ex-bf to do that as well, I ask her what do she treat me as? she says, more than a close friend...
My heart sank terribly, but she still message me in sms and called me "Dear". feeling terribly sorrow. When can't even hold her hand, what's more to called it a relationship right? -
some people 2 years attached still havent even french.(i mean 1980s)

For all you know, Burmese can be quite conservative la.. So don't force her into anything. I know 2 burmese friends quite well. They are attached to locals and do no seem to be conservative to me. But then, I am not sure how long they have been in relationships before.
Just ask her straightforward about how relationships are seen in her country and whether she is comfortable with holding your hand as it makes you feel better.. -

try to slyly hold her hands lor if it meant that much to you
eg: crossing the road, just quickly clutch her hand and walk across
later just give reasons like you cared for her safety, etc etc etc -
Also try to make more body contact.
Don't get me wrong though. What I mean is it will be odd if you usually don't touch her and suddenly wanna hold hands. Instead start off by having small bodily contacts. Like patting her back when she is coughing or making her hair look proper, for all you know, you can always say that there is something in her hair (although there isn't) and "clean" her hair. And as the above guy has said, try to hold her while crossing roads and that kinda stuff.
It is also possible that it has nothing to do with being Burmese. It can be just her. As in, there are some people who just do not like bodily contact. I have some friends like that. For that case it will be more harder but not impossible =)

She has certain values and points regarding relationship between guy and girl. Can you respect her decision? -
