You are another bastard that deserve to die. He did nothing wrong visiting hookers as long as he knows how to use a condom and protect himself. It a trade and when there is demand, there will be supply. Who says he deserve it? Did he do anything against the law? The threadstarter is worried sick & likely suffering from depression by now & ppl are still rubbing it in. How many of you didn't make mistakes before?

After the first exposure, I waited a few months before going for a full health screening including HIV tests. The result was negative, and I should have learnt. Instead I foolishly exposed myself a second time, listening to the wrong head. The temptation was too great, it was a great gal, and we only found out last minute that we both had no condoms, but went ahead anyway. And in the morning, I found some bloodstains on the bedsheets!!
The few months' wait was agonising, and worse was to come. Coincidentally I took up an insurance policy. I then received a confidential letter from the insurance company asking me to go for a HIV test, stating that they will reject my policy if they don't hear from a doctor indicating I have been tested with a negative result!! I've had a few policies already, and this is simply unheard of. Did they find something in the routine insurance medical test?
My life flashed before my eyes. I was quite sure I would get it this time, as a punishment from someone up above. In subsequent visits to Jakarta I never found the girl in the bar again. I started doing research, and reckoned my chances as follows:
Chance of the girl being HIV positive - 50% (high side)
Chance of getting it from single session with HIV-positive person - say 5% (based on research)
Adjusted chance, given she was bleeding - 20%
Overall chance of me getting it = 50% x 20% = 10%
I know it sounds ridiculous, but trust me, you will do the same when your entire life is at risk and yet you cannot do anything about it but wait. 10% is not too high, yet the price is terrible should I be unlucky enough.
When the time comes I dragged myself to the DCS Clinic for anonymous instant testing. And when the counsellor said "negative", I almost choked. I almost felt like a new man, a resurrection of my future.
Why am I saying all these? I hope it makes you feel better - the chances of getting it is actually not very great, yet don't get me wrong - IT IS DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE RISK! The months of waiting, and the moments in the clinic waiting for the result, will forever be a reminder to me not to be so stupid again.
Based on what you said, you should be fine unless you have wounds or ulcers in your mouth, or anywhere you might have used to contact her fluids. So take it easy, and go for the test when the time is right. In the meantime - no sex please! -
