For girls ideally be back before 11pm. Boys can stay out later.
Nowadays there are many foreign workers lurking around, very risky as u can be robbed or raped.
If u are late, best to give your parents a call so they can wait for u at the lift, if u are staying HDB. -

if not, wait till mornin 7am eg. then go home, thats what i usually do
can go for breakfast too
but of course, it's no too good to loiter around too often durin mid night although the feelin is great so, before 11.30pm should be alright -

it is not so much about the time but the danger that could possibly be lurking. be very alert especially when it is dark and quiet.
better safe than sorry. -
just remember to travel in pairs or groups and you should be fine
