Also I think he is in a hurry to get married soon....
But if you dont feel comfortable, just tell him you want to have more time to know each other better. I think your reason is good. -

sometimes really cannot believe too much in the things people say when in r/s.

Then you shld clarify or ask him why is he so sure? Are you prepared to marry? Remember, its once in a lifetime (well...... it seems 1 time not enuf for recent couples... but I hope it doesn't happen to you 2) and are you comfortable being with him? Here's a example of what I gleaned from another all female forum.
One young lady X age 20.
Got to know a guy Y age 21 from friend of her friend.
Guy Y likes lady X so much that he tells her at the very first date.
That he loves her already and wants to share his life with her. He wants to marry her but since he is still so poor serviing his NS, to ask her to wait for him and that they should both open a joint a/c and together they will save enough money to eventually marry her and provide her a life.
X was so moved. She was working as a sales assistant at that time. She brought up the issues to the other ladies and was hoping that other people will share her enthuism that it will be a lovely relationship.
This one says: Well, man will say all he wants. But until he took some action like actully contributing his share to that a/c. Dont believe him. -
another g/f.
she was 20 years old, and has this married friend that is after her.
now, she knows this guy is a jackazz and is toying with her.
and this jackazz, one time, after been scolded speechless by her. Insist that he wants to marry her, and that they will go to the ROM tonite.
In the end, he drove away angrilily and keep telling others, he was really ready to marry her, but she scolded him so badly that he has to give up.
The point of that arguement was: You want me, you go divorce your wife and then we can marry. -

Love is like wine; it gets better with age. Learn to appreciate the finest aspects of love and not resort to rushing. You do not revel in good food by gobbling everything up; you will probably end up with a bad stomach.
Love is such beautiful thing; as what Guess commercial would tell you '...take your time....' There is no rush if he's truly the one for you, but definitely, there would be a need for haste if he isn't - so that you could make indecisive judgement before you get to see the real him.
P.S: All hasty relationships are Uranus-influenced - very sudden and usually not substantial.

There's nothing standard in the phases of any boy-girl relationship for the simple reason that each one differs from the other One year from courtship to marriage may be too fast for some but fine for others............
As a rule of thumb, a relationship is moving too fast if you don't feel comfortable about certain things done by you and/or your partner....... -
well you guys were close friends for a year so he probably thinks he know you quite well, and making the relationship official is only a formality. but if you dont think you're ready to think of marrying him then thats another story. i guess theres no fast or slow. a friend of mine got to know this guy for a few months and got marreid to him.
