I failed my maths prelims, overall 15/100
I did seriously practise and understand. I practise and get this grade, I didn't practise and get this grade too
Maths fail, I can't get anywhere, to poly or what
Left 1 month, how to improve? That time I saw this results, I feel like crying, but I can't, because I am in school.
Am I a goner?

If that is so, confirm can't score one mah. Practise those basic topics first , so as to secure your 50%, the rest of the difficult topics choose those you understand more and practise
And when I say practise it is practising till you anyhow pick a question you also know the steps how to do lor.
My Chemistry got F9 in prelimins leh, i use 1 month also to get B3.
SO don't tell me you can't. -
Ask yourself. Did you practice enough? Did you study effectively? Effectively as in practicing the more common topics. Eg. Expanding equations, simultaneous equations,etcetc

erm, practise as in I did a lot of qn on algebra topic, almost all?
during the sept holidays, i went back to sch everyday and look for teacher for help
but one think i notice, i am always not confident in writing my answers. everytime i did one qn, i will turn behind and check whether its correct or wrong. -

Answers right or wrong not so critical as people bound to make mistakes like missing decimal points or what. -
Doing maths is something like knowing the "reasoning" behind every step you're doing.
Why doing this will lead to this, to this, then to that etc.
You practiced questions. Did you spent time thinking about why you have to do it this way? How do you practice? Ten-year series answers? Textbook examples? When you ask your teacher, do you understand the explanation? -

Erm...Why not jump off a building... den when ur in heaven..god tells you you've passed...

Don't listen to him. If you take your O'Levels, it will be at least 3 months before the results come out. That means you can enjoy yourself for those 3 months first and get as many chicks as you can. i have reach the lowest point of my life and if you two reach that part, you both would want people to understand or what instead of talking nonsense..
i don't mind if people here say i suck, my maths suck, or i have not done my part, not solving my maths problem right from the start, but i do mind if people like both of you talk nonsense..
suicide is only for people who want to run away from their problems, and now i want to face it instead of running away from the fact that my maths suck.. -
what exactly do you not understand?
from there, start...
algebra is just about equations... what you do to the left side of the equal sign, you have to do to the right side...
just remember a few base rules of BODMAS which tells you what comes first.. Brackets, Of (multiplication), Division, Multiplication (again), Addition, Subtraction.. in that order...
and also remember never to divide by zero on both sides...
after that, you just manipulate the equations to your liking until there is only the unknown on one side.. -
start from easy ones, make sure your foundation is firm, no silly mistakes, etc.
easy ones doesn't mean those u obviously know with one eye closed, its those dat u are prone to make simple mistakes.
at least that worked for me. even though some really tricky questions i can't answer well but those basic ones i can score well.
and don't check too many times. sometimes during stress, ur mind will play tricks on you and you ended up changing the correct answers. imo, the best is check twice at most and leave it be. -

u r wasting your own f***ing time. if u cry, go and fail flat during the Os because u deserve to, for wasting your own bloody time crying.
myself, i got F9 for A maths for prelims. instead of crying, or even remotely feeling like crying like a wimpy pu*sy, i studied and got B3. so, it can be done. -

anyway. go hang out with people who are good in math more often. by hanging out, i dont mean having fun. go practice with them around, ask more questions, do more, practise more; you gotta build up your confidence
another impt thing to note is how close is the standard of your sch's prelim paper to the actual O level paper?

when i was in NJC an ice age ago, about 10% of the school passed the math paper.. i got 23%
i got A for Math C in the A-levels...
