The problem is that those ethical codes by themselves are constantly changing. 30 to 40 years ago in Singapore a couple holding hands in public was already considered as a shameless act of PDA. Now prostitutes openly soliciting customers in the streets is considered normal. At this rate, open sex by the roadside will soon be the norm.

Things like these are bound to happen... As for me same as well...I'll stick to the concept of not doing it b4 marriage... Maybe b4 being married at the point of engagement is alright... But about ONS...I think thats outta of the question for me...
You also can't underestimate to power of the mass media. As much parents and teachers keep telling us about the virtues of chastity and abstinence, it all counts for nuts if we have our youth watching sex scenes and blatant promiscuity on the telly set at 10pm. The message that gets driven into their brains is clear: 'sex is fun. Abstinence is for dorks.'
In the past, the best friends of our youth are their parents. But now with the close relationships of youths exhibiting a paradigm shift from parents to their peers, it's a whole lot harder to live by your parents' sayings and warnings with regards to sexual promiscuity. Especially if your best bud happens to be bragging about how all his sexual 'conquests'.
As for me, I'll stick to what my parents said about the birds and the bees. Call me old-fashioned, but to me they hold a lot of wisdom.
And after seeing what happened to one of my buddies when he came down with gonorrhoea after a ONS, I'm convinced once and for all that abstinence till marriage is the smartest thing to do. -
It strikes me that plenty of pretty girls are insecure abt their guy, so they choose a less yandao one. Likewise, fugly girls can take it easy having a yandao bf 'cos these guys did not go after them for looks. Just my opinion....

Should we be surprised with the results? It's been going on for a long time and nothing much has been done to date. Simply waving the moral stick has not worked as far as I remembered (since the 90s), and I certainly don't see it working today. This is about connecting with our young'uns, not playing tai chi with responsibility. A change of mindset on part of parents and government alike is sorely needed.

This issue has actually been bothering me for quite some time.
I chose not to have pre-martial sex with my ex-gf. I felt that the emotional burden would be too much to handle for both myself and her.
After we broke up, I began to wonder whether I was weird, or unusual.
I asked my friends what was their take on pre-marital sex. Most said it was ok, while some were already engaging in it.
I became pretty disillousioned as I began realise that perhaps I may the only virgin left around.
I then thought back, and realised that I conciously made the choice NOT to have pre-marital sex.
However, I no longer hold any hopes that my next gf is a virgin. I would accept it but yet not compromise my own convictions about pre-marital sex. -

Its not a wonder why pervs are going for younger kids and feeding their need to have "fresh young unused things".
Anyways, isn't it good that these teens are killing themselves indirectly with their own actions - I hope all of them get aids and all sorts of sick diseases? I just hope there is no charity that pops up to tell us "old prunes" to donate to find a cure for their issues and the social issues they created. I tell them to go to hell and don't come back.

its like meat... u go for fresh meat.. or u go for stale rotten meat. The principal is the same.. i for one opt for young..fresh..meat...nice...tender..mmm.. slurp.
Only thing u gotta put up with its thier childishness and innocence that sometimes annoys u.. but its worth it.
