I had an ex-colleague who screamed in lifts at the 49th floor that he had not slept with his wife for 2-3 years. In fact they live apart. His is one emo case and his wife know that leaving him will cause him and her a lot or harm. Very Undesirable situation.

Four possible reasons.
1. The lack of a strong father or masculine figure in their lives, especially during childhood and teenhood. Not someone who controls each and every movement and behaviour, but one who teaches them the proper values and creates the influence to mould a positive character.
2. Media trends. With the media overly emphasising that guys should be more in-touch with their feelings and be willing to express themselves, many younger guys are doing just that but in excessive amounts. It is okay to talk about your feelings, but doing it too often and to the wrong person is detrimental to the relationship / friendship.
3. Guys think that being emo is the surest way of getting into a girl's pants.
4. Guys are in their comfort zone. If you never have had to deal with sh1t in your life, you'll overly focus on the minute things. E.G. If you've been told that you have cancer and might die, that bicker with your online buddy yesterday will become pea small in comparsion in terms of the magnitude. -

It seems that he is taking everything I said to him as a personal attack, with replies like "My design sense not as good as you." when I commented that his font color is too close to the background to be readable etc.
Any ways to deal with the emo guys? Should I be more sensitive to what I say to them? It's kind of hard to say stuff when they ask me for my opinion in their web design and they cannot take it even I commented in a very mildly, non provocative way.
Seems like I'm getting more and more male friends who emo over every other thing... from not getting enough attention from a female friend in game (she gave 2stacks of water in game to him and 3stacks to me and he got emotional and kicked up a fuss) to taking comments personally and accusing the whole gaming guild of being racist when it's supposed to be that case in game. (WoW game - PVP-roleplaying server, Horde side and what we said is "Alliance sucks" "Alliance is ez-mode" and my friend flared up ) -

I thought maybe it's real life so they over-react but it gets worse in-game. (I think Alliance is ez-mode too, you guys have it easier with the end-game attunement quests, and travelling is way easier too)
