  Do you guys think lust, or physical intimacy is important in a relationship? Somehow I feel that it is part of this which keeps the relationship going.
  
  And if yes, how far do you guys think its appropriate to go?

  In every relationship, no doubt sex is a must. Physical intimacy is something which keeps the relationship firm and intact.
  
  But lust to other people you mean? Then I would say a no no.

  I think what keep r/s going is the mutual trust between the couple.

  Lust is lust - that's an emotion that will likely to fail the relationship in the long run because of wrong reason for coming together.
  
  Physical intimacy is physical intimacy - a hug is also physical intimacy, and that is of course important.

  Yeah I'm referring to lust and physical intimacy from your own partner. But some people wants to wait till they get married before they give up their virginity to their other half, so I guess it sometimes depends on the individuals.
  
  I wonder if this thinking is still common nowadays.

  physical intimacy as in? petting? sex? basically it should not be the prime thing tat keeps both together... coz once u sian of intimacy, ur relationship has no meaning liao... look further than intimacy la...

  but i dun agree that sex is a must. Maybe for most guys, yes.
  
  but for most girls, there muz be a certain level of security and trust before sex.

  Like Yunheier says, it's up to the individual.
  
  Sex doesn't keep a relationship going. It's mutual trust and the thoughts of longing to be with each other keep the relationship going.
