my back of the lower tooth have been pain for days... today i go see the doctor, he say nid to operate the teeth out... some more nid stitches lor... the cost is $500+++ expensive hor....
But the prob is i scared of pain, coz he say he will make my mouth numb then cut the gum open then take out the teeth... eeee.... some more will have stitches on it....
I would like to know hw pain is the process? my mum and friend say not pain lei... some more my friend say after the operation, gt days will bleed then have to take MC lor... can anyone tell mi more abt it... plz.... -

Last check, you better be sensitive to painkillers else you will scream with pain. I heard of a fellow who is could not be put under anathesia and went under the orthodontist's scapel, that was the worst operation in NDC.

Try the dental clinic @ any govt polyclinic. Tooth extraction is much less than $500. Had my wisdom extracted and it costs less than $50.
Your $500 dentist is out to milk you dry.

dont worry..i survived my surgery to remove my 4 wisdom tooth and 3 normal teeth.
i went under GA. i was put to sleep so dunno what happened to my mouth during the surgery.
for the pain part, i only feel pain when i opened my mouth too big for eating. you can take the painkillers if you want. not much bleeding. the cheeks may swell up but it will subside. i ate porridge and mee sua for the following days. -
$50 is when the whole tooth is fully erupted. Don't worry too much about the pain...it isn't that bad with painkillers and it will be just for a few days rather than if you have a gum inflection and you had to go through the pain. -

i got 8 wisdom tooths but so neatly sit along my other teeths, but the dentist advised me to extract out if really a problem
btw if wisdom tooths got decay>>>

so extract early better or later??? -
i think extract early is better than scrambling around for a dentist when the infection gets worse and puts you in lots of pain.

haha... lower ones usually cost aruond that price.
even at hospital it cost me $952 for 2 extraction.
i'll be going for the opt on 5th dec!!! YEAh!!! -

it's the normal extraction fee. But when there's inflammation or under the gums and that's when surgery is required, it costs much much more.

I taken my wisdom tooth out 3 mth ago..
Let me share with u my experience..
First , they will ask u alot of question like drug allegery and so on..
After tat , they will inject anathesia to ur gum and let 3-6 mins for the anathesia to take effect as for them to carry on their work...

When they working on my tooth , I still can feel a little bit of pain and the pressure they use to extract out my wisdom tooth by force..
Can hear the "Clak Clak" sound..
After everything finish , they stitch ur gum back and ur gum will keep on bleeding the whole day -.-"
Want to get ur mouth half open aso hard..
I rmb that time the dentist gave me 7 days of mc and I have a hard time comsuming my meals everyday 0.o -

But they say the sound very scary... like hammering, drilling!!! Oh My God!!! Help!!! Haiz.... realli not scary meh? ytd i go dental clinic, then i think the patient b4 mi is also wisdom tooth... then i at outside hear alot of the hammering sound... sound so scary sia.... then she cum out the mouth got lots of blood.... yucks...

There's hammering because of the pneumatic jackhammer. You can't just pull it out, you have to break the tooth into pieces, and then pick it out piece by piece. But before all that, drilling is essential to soften it. After the loss of the tooth would lead to a gaping hole in your gums, that explains the blood and stiching.

i had 3 out of 4 wisdom removed. 2 required surgery and 1 normal extraction. usually lower wisdom teeth require surgery since they grow in a slanted manner and they are not fully exposed. They trapped food which will cause decay.
x-ray will be taken. local anaesthesia will be given. for surgery, drilling/hammering will be done to break the tooth and will be removed in pieces. then the wound will be sewn. then probably after a week u will go down to remove the threads. painkillers and antibacteria mouth rinse will be given. actually i felt that there is not much pain and i dun eat the given painkillers. The cost is about 500 per surgically removed tooth. But surgery wise can be reimbursed from your Medisave but u have to pay first. I think u have to check with the clinic if they are part of the medisave program.
normal extraction is easy. just LA and pulling nia.
