I personally think your sister's mind has yet to grow according to her age.
From what I personally see, your sister's mentality still remains in "primary school". What I can suggest you to do is to treat your sister like a primary school girl, giving her the care and concern and bear with the nuisance of what a primary school girl gives.
I believe as time pass, your sister's mentality will soon grow old and become mature too. Its just a matter of time, let nature take its path.
Theres a no need for going to the medical park. -
I think yr sis need a lot of patience n help fm u.
Having repeated P6 twice, she is already at a great disadvantage.
She needs lots of guidance to do the right things. If yr parents is not free to do it, then u lor.
Think about it this way, what if u are her and she is u, what do u expect her to do for u? Are u doing those things for her now? If u don't know, read some books on it.
Regarding the late developer thing: I have a cousin who had to gone to P8, managed to go to express stream in Sec sch, guaduated fm poly, and earning many thousands now.
Hope the same thing for yr sis.
I think u care for her very much to write here.
Just bite yr teeth and help her, that's wat sibblings are for.

My sis has that ....no one can reason with her if she wants things done her own way.
Not a mental illness - it is just a matter of maturity and whether ur sis bothers to listen to you. If I were u , I would tell her to get her own account and pay for it. -
i think it's the enviroment or the way that she's being brought up ba..
perhaps she feels inconfident about herself, no frens, duno how to express herself.
not so serious that u have to bring her to IMH. Go there ar.. ple with nth wrong go, might not get a chance to come out.
perhaps bring her to see a psychiatrist or watever.. I know NUH have. -
hi, i suggest bring her to the doctor instead of IMH, the place is not for her. Let the doctor diagnose what's the illness and decide what to do next always let your sis know that everyone is concerning about her, she will feel it, spend sometime with her and accept her, talk to her nicely and yes have some patient, as long as there is a will, there is a way. dun be sad... cos no1 is perfect, all the best

in my 100% reliable opinion, your sister is being influenced by her friends. not so much a slow-learning brain but rather the maturity of the peers she hangs out with. Remember the saying, if a man dwells in the company of snakes, he will also become a snake? Yes, that's the reason why she's still so childish. As for the computer you can allow her up to 2 hours of playtime seeing that she's such a game addict. Cure her slowly lah.. no need IMH...yet.

it seems that your sister need to be train, but i found very strange if u say she repeated p6, yet she able to guess ur password (ps. what ur ps). u may need to refer her to a specialist.
2nd, why she be with all those fren mistreat her, unless having the same interest or goals. be safe
i saw few case of low EQ, high IQ, u need to give as more info. -
maybe ur password is the name of the character in her fighting games leh?

Then ytd i wanna delete tat a/c away then she grab mi very hard and keep on crying say she wun everyday play. She will like die for computer tat kind lor... she always play those fighting games.
So sorry for the long posting. But i realli dunno wat to do. I email IMH they say they cant diagnose her illness thru email. But say maybe can bring her for checkup. What should i do? I think my parents also wun bear to let her go IMH.

They may not fare well in studies, but they fare well in other areas. It's not strange, it's true. -
I guess you must love your sister alot.
Maybe she is going through the rebellious period now, you also know nowadays how kids scold vuglarities, its like daily meals like that lor.
About she likes to eat sweet, never mind her lah. When she hungry, she will automatically eat one.
If she dont like to clean herself up, let her be lah. Sooner or later, some friends will say about her cleaniness de lah, then she will start clean herself up since she treasure her friends so much.
Very easy for the computer problem. Just let her play lah but then when she in school or going out with friends, you load some spywares to create pop-ups then blame it on her games lor.
Some people are late developers, you never know she is the next Bill Gates in her later years. Right?
Observe her for several week and then decide whether she have a medical condition or just plain going through rebellious period lor. She won't be bullied by her friends for long one lah. Even when dogs are pushed to the corner, they will still bite back.

I don't think your sis is a late developer... She sounds like she's suffering from mild autism... She's not MAD...
My step sister is autistic (really serious kind)... She can't talk clearly, and she's like SUPER hyper-active and doctor had instructed us to reduce as much sugar from her diet as we can (that's why no more sweets and chocolates) cos sugar will make her even more hyper active.
She cannot take simple instructions properly, half the time I really wonder if she really register what we say, but when you least expects it she does the correct thing with good effort.
One more thing... She's really really good with the computer... Anything computer related, she's a whizz. Though I have not tried if she could break passwords... But trust me... She's very intelligent...

No matter what, I still love my step sister, cos it is not anyone's fault that she's born that way... She's a loving person by nature, just that genetics played a joke on her. There's no cure, so the best way is to understand what she's suffering from, and making it easier for her and the family to live with her condition, and hopefully provide a nurturing environment for her to grow up. -
Hi guys, i believe i have a similar problem with my sister, she`s however almost 19. simply put it, laziness and naive. You can guess, her education is a mess, can't get into teritary of any sort, and simply spends btw never thinks of the consequences, and gets easily influenced. Just takes things for granted, no means of income,(what can u do without a proper paper cert these days?)
i mean there are bills to pay and at an age of 19, i would say one would prob wake up to reality. -
intro to me, i can teach them not to trust people so easily and to wake up to reality.

probably would be a good idea to do a full psychiatric evaluation by a qualified psychiatrist. try going to your GP and see if he thinks it warrants a referal.

her IQ may be very high cos can break password mah, only thing she acts like a kid because her peers are like one too.
i think dont give her limitation on playing games ba... when u restrict her playing time, she feels that she needs to play more if not later cannot play liao cos sis coming back home.
