Hi all . this is my first post and i really need help.
recently i submitted my application for my JAE exercise. I put down jc as my first 4 choice cause of family pressure. But after many quarrels with my parents, they finally relented and allow me to go to poly and let me study tourism in temasek poly!
of cause im pleased with that. however i'll most likely get into the first 4 choices which are jcs. So what should i do? i can't amend my application anymore.
I can only appeal through the poly now. My l1r4 is 7 so it's not too bad. But the problem is i'm afraid that the course intake is full since its a pretty "hot" course and they might reject me.
And i heard from my teacher that they might dump me in any course after appealing fails thus im very afraid that i end up in other course which i have no interest. (I'm not too sure about this so can anyone tell me whether its true?)
What should i do now? I finally got the "go ahead" from my parents but i'm afraid that my appeal fails and i get dumped into just any course!

hi there, I am from HTM.
hell yeah, we are are very popular course and by now, all the seats should have long been filled on. but fret now.
Stick to your JC first. In the mean time, apply for DAE with my course manager. Go down to TP and ask around.
If you are lucky, some people would op out of the course and then you can get in. If not, i am sorry, but you have to stay in your JC.

so should i look for the course manager before the release of the posting or before that?

i'm remain baffled parents these days are still against poly....time has progressed beyond previous education convention...many poly grads are entering into uni too and tend to skip a year and they do reasonably better than the jc entrants...typically because poly grads tend to be more mature...employers when they see both the diploma and degree, they will definitely be more impressed than the useless a-levels cert.....but if all things don't work out, take up the casino dealer programme.....if i were younger, i'll go for it.....
