If the girl is nice enough to let it pass, she may still accept him as a friend should she reject him. I'm still in close touch with a couple of girls who have rejected me before.
Of course, the danger of losing her friendship altogether is definitely there. As it is I would say that I'm extremely lucky to still be friends with those two girls. But I hope that will not deter the TS from telling the girl how he feels about her. -

And you got away with it pretty well. She still insists on being friends with you. In my book, that's not really all that bad. It could have been a lot worse, with her not wanting to keep in touch with you at all.
Cheer up yah. I'm sure she's a really nice girl, but have faith... the right one will come along sometime.
