Just keep on reminding yourself and force yourself to do it once only. You might even want to purposely make some mistakes and see what happens.Originally posted by faizal82:Thanks everyone..affected my lifestyle? Hmm..when I`m browsing thru the net, I tend to look at the content again n again to make sure what I read was correct..this time around, I`m looked at it once n tats it..unless got some important content..even when I count my change after I buy sumting, I tend to count again n again..but this time I`ll do it jus once n tats it..
Overall, just trying to tell myself I`m ok n its ok for humans to make mistakes..

I behaved like a normal kid back then...I assume..I`ll ask my parents if I acted weird when I was a baby..Originally posted by viciouskitty74:Can you check with your parents your behaviours at home too when you were young? Did you sort of outgrow it and its now coming back? Or its there all along even after your toddler years?
Yes, ur absolutely right on ur definition of OCD..tats exactly what I`m going thru..thanks for the well wishes : )Originally posted by dahliamorie:It can get very very serious if you don't do anything about it. Saw it on Tyra Banks talkshow. Glad you're seeking help. If my memory hasn't failed me, those ppl who have OCD will have a feeling of "something-bad-is-gonna-happen" if they recheck things or keep doing things again and again right?
Take care TS. Hope you'll get better soon.

I have this condition now n currently going for my psychiatric appts..it all started during my temp job, where I was checking receipts n stuff..n I tend to recheck n recheck..making sure the data is correct..even when after I recheck, I tend to do it again n again...n when I leave the office, I tend to worry abt wats happening at work n have this bottom sinking feeling in my stomach..
At home, I`m not spared..I always check the main door many times to see whether its locked b4 i leave home..rearrange things to make them look perfect..check my wallet b4 i go to sleep..etc...lots of things..its like an unknown force n tempatation trying to tell me tat its not proper and tells me to do it again n again...
Its really affecting me greatly..told my online pals abt it n they suggested I should seek help immediately..went to see my usual GP n he referred me to CGH psychiatrist...yday, was my 2nd appt..got medications n telling him everything just made me better..
Actually, I had this habit which was unknown to me since my poly days..back then, it was little but as of late, it has turned severe..
As of now, whenever I do things, I try not to recheck n assuring myself tat nothing bad is goin to happen n humans make mistakes...nobody in this world is perfect..maybe I`m obsessed in being perfect..u know, like getting it perfect at one shot. Even when I have tat bottom sinking feeling in my stomach whenever I dont do things perfectly, I just try to ignore it..its like goin thru cold turkey..but eventually one day, this habit will perish..
Maybe theres someone here who has the same experience as me care to share their stories n how they deal with it?
Thanks for reading.

A higher level would be saying 'hello' when you wake up or 3pm in the noon suddenly, as response to your frequent phone calls with your girlfriend
(now you guys know my lifestyle-used-to-be)
as response to TS, i think what you're really lacking is confidence and you feel very insecure, resulting in depression and i believe that medication is not the way to go, it suppresses but not resolve this illness.
Do you have close friends, perhaps a soulmate? you need someone to rely on, someone you can really open your heart ( or mouth ) to.
You need to relax a little, lose some tension. Entertainment is the key.
