Contradicting Self

There is this girl i like. She's quite pretty and cute.
She's also a "hot topic" for everyone.
and she has a lot of guys approaching her.
But despite of that, a lot of guys say they wont go after her also because she looks childish and playful.
The thing is whenever a friend of about her and ask my opinion about her, I will go saying that she's not my type because she's childish. The fact is I have strong infuatation for her.
Sometimes I do help her from behind whenever I can but acting a bit cold in front of her.
Why am I contradicting myself? I myself don't understand. Is it to avoid my friends from finding out that I like her? -

You are attracted to her, but you are obviously acting the way you are due to peer pressure.
So what happened is that you are simply conforming to peer pressure. You act the same way as they do so as to remain in the circle. And the fact is, some of those guys are most probably in the same position as you are in right now.

hmm i din disturb the girl also leh. din purposely talk to the girl to "approach" also, only talk to her when i really need her help (for some reason, we worked together). and only talk when she needs my help (again, for some reason we are working together) or she came to me. i hardly initiate the talk with her about none related to our work stuff, mostly is she come but that also very rare. I have seen her helping me without my knowlegde also, only 1 week later i found out myself, despite her cold appearance to me sometimes.... Am i not sparing her enough....don't ask me to not talk to her at all leh....we are friends leh.......not acquintance leh.... -

That has kept you in the defensive mode all this time.
Put it this way, if you have more of everything - looks, charm, money, status - things can convince yourself that you can meet her standards, you will not have reacted the way you did.
What you need is a detached, don't give a crap attitude.
It is quite alright to be a clown and make a fool out of yourself sometimes. -

If u like the girl , then go after her.....
then show ur friend whether she is worth ur effort or not.....
from what u describe, I think she is a pretty good girl....
